If a straight ship doesn't exhibit this exact energy then I don't want it
"Don't you have any straight ships?" To be a hetero romantic couple that I actively SHIP, you have to pass my trials.
Have the character's be character's OUTSIDE of their relationship, instead of, "just X's boyfriend/girlfriend." (Mostl for main couples. Side characters can do whatever they want)
Has to start with them being friends / rivals / any kind of non-romantic dynamic before becoming romantic partners / before romantic interests
Man has to treat the woman like a person and not just an object
Man has to actively listen what his partner is saying
Man has to be happy for his partner's accomplishments (unless the accomplishments are damaging her or could cause problems for her in the future)
Have to be equal in the relationship (not like status and all that. Queen and Knight for all I care. I mean that they have to treat each other as equals, and one won't abuse the authority over the other unless both parties are into that.)
👏MUST 👏 HAVE 👏 CHEMISTRY 👏 AND 👏 LIKE 👏 EACH 👏 OTHER 👏 FOR 👏 OTHER 👏 REASONS 👏 THAN 👏 "We're both hot and main leads of the opposite sex" 👏. LITERALLY I will look past EVERYTHING ELSE if this is the case.
Sadly, most media, ESPECIALLY blockbuster movies, can't even have them cross THREE of these boxes.
You might be wondering, "isn't it a bit strange to have these rules for straight relationships but not queer ones?" Probably. But, come back to me after you've grown up with the, "boy and girl character must get together", mindset in media, are fucking SICK of it, and now are just sick of it. Combine this with witnessing your female friends and people you know irl having toxic boyfriends while your queer friends's relationships don't have the same toxic dynamics you've witnessed over and over again. Come talk to me after all of that.
I'm tagging this as het couples that pass this test :)
who’s your favourite out of all the moon boys?
I don’t have a favourite! I love them all equally.
And I know they’ll probably come argue about them being the favourite now.
