Moonsun+ fluffy+ first date 😌 please and thank you
It had been Byulyi who asked Yongsun out.
So why am I suddenly the one planning for everything?
It was a saturday evening. Yongsun, as usual, was filming her youtube video(something along the expose your gallery challenge lines) when Byulyi suddenly called her. She swiped the green button to answer the call, definitely not expecting a blunt "Wanna go on a date somewhere?" from her girlfriend.
It hadn't been so long since the two of them started dating and knowing that they will finally be going on their very first date as lovers, it excited her.
And almost immediately, Yongsun answered "Sure."
What she didn't expect, though, was the question that follows. The line was silent for a moment, until she heard a tiny voice, hesitantly muttering "Where?"
Flustered is an understatement. Yongsun's mind was on a state of panic.
Both women were celebrities, moreso, they belong in a single group so going outdoors is a no-no. Dinner date at a fancy restaurant seems too generic as well.
So where?
-
They ended up staying at home, cuddled up on a fluffy blanket with Byulyi's head placed on Yongsun's tummy. The latter's back was pressed against her bed's headboard as she looked down, adoring her girlfriend's soft and raw features. No makeup. Just her. Byulyi, on the other hand, stared back up, playing with Yongsun's bleached (yet unexpectedly soft) strands.
The scenario seemed too natural for the both of them but in fact, it was the first time the two actually took their time to admire each other openly.
The audio of a movie they were watching was blurred out in the background, and the chips they initially planned on eating was left untouched.
Right now, it was just the both of them. Kim Yongsun and Moon Byulyi.
Bonus:
"What were you doing when I called you?" Byulyi asked, voice laced with both curiosity and amusement. "You answered so quickly."
"Uh, filming." Yongsun replied, a soft smile forming on her lips at the memory. "Youtube stuff."
Yes, she caught all that on camera. The way she brightened up almost immediately when she saw the caller's name on the camera's screen and heard the ringtone set specially for her girlfriend echoing through the walls of her room, her cheeks heating up as she giggled through the phone when Byulyi dropped the question, and, lastly, the best part with her eyes widening and jaw dropping, dumbfounded at the word "where".
Maybe she'd give Byulyi the pleasure of making fun of her later on.
Real
They were trainees then, young but not naive. They were well-aware of the challenges life would constantly throw at them once they cross the wide one-way bridge that connects the life of a normal adult to the life of an entertainer. There's no turning back, they knew. Even so, they were determined to take the risk and stepped forward.
The bridge shook. It was not an easy journey for the both of them.
Byulyi was asked to choose between losing weight or giving up on her dreams. Yongsun, on the other hand had to audition for multiple companies.
Eventually, as they continued to cross the unstable path to their desired goal, they met each other. They walked, hand-in-hand, as their other hands gripped on the railings on their opposite sides, making their journey a bit more stable now that they have each other.
-
They debuted, surprisingly, in the same group along with a cute dimpled girl and a fierce-looking baby.
Mamamoo–that's what they're called.
They were a group destined to lead the younger generations to a more open space. They were a group that screamed for equality, inspiring people from different age groups.
Byulyi and Yongsun, they were closer than ever. They grew to be the support of one another. They silently vowed to protect or at least be there for the other as much as they could, knowing that things are going to be a bit harder than before.
-
It all started from the warm gazes the two unconciously send to each other. It was noticeable to anyone around them making it a normal occurrence that someone asks them if they were dating, which, of course, they answered no.
They weren't. They were best friends.
(Yongsun watched in adoration as the younger girl twirled around the practice room, playfully dancing along with the maknaes. Her hair flowed at every movement of her body as she moved along the beat, making up the silliest dances but, somehow, still managing to look as graceful as ever.
Her gaze fell on her smile, travelling to her cheek dimples. She admired how her nose scrunches when she laughed too much. She had been there when she cried about it, engulfing her in a warm embrace as the younger's sobs were muffled on her shoulder. She didn't understand how someone would even have the heart to tell her not to smile too much because "it looked ugly". No, it was adorable.
Her thoughts were rudely interrupted when Byulyi called for her.
"Yeba, stop standing in a corner and get your ass over here!"
She feigned a scoff, bringing her hand to her face to hide her reddened cheeks as she made her way towards the group.)
Apart from the weird feelings that seemed to grow as they spent more time in the presence of one another, they knew they were nothing but close friends.
-
Years later, they've become a bit more aware of their feelings, noticing the smallest things the other is able to make them feel. Byulyi noticed the way her heart seemed to skip a beat whenever her hand brushes with Yongsun's as they walk through the street leading to their company building. Yongsun noticed the way every weird quirks of the younger girl seemed to make her smile.
They noticed the way they longed for each other's presence more than they should whenever they had to spend the day apart.
With their years of friendship, they were comfortable enough to not bother covering up what they felt for each other, fully knowing that their feelings were reciprocated. Byulyi openly showed Yongsun affection, which the older didn't mind. They would also come over to each other's house (which, at the end of the day, always end up with one of them sleeping over) off-days.
It's one of those days wherein the rapper decided to come over to Yongsun's apartment telling the older she was bored as an excuse for her want to, once again, admire her in her casual home attire. It felt a bit more natural… and domestic, she thought.
Funny, though, how Yongsun was the one captivated by the younger girl's seemingly perfect features.
(They were sitting across each other, Byulyi's eyes on the kimchi fried rice Yongsun has made for her just earlier on as she ranted about random stuff the older was barely even paying attention to. She was too distracted by the way the younger's brows seemed to furrow as she talked about her worries about her pet corgi getting a little bit fatter.
"It's unhealthy." She heard her grumble, a small pout beginning to form on her lips.
The more she stared the more she wanted to blurt out the words she's been meaning to say all these time. And she did.
"Let's date."
"Daeba-Huh?"
"You and me. Let's date.")
-
Byulyi remembered secluding herself from her family and friends, locking herself up in her room for weeks. She never went out unless she needed to restock her cup noodles and beer she had been living off to since the day after her nasty break up.
It was until her youngest sister, then 5 years old, grabbed her hand when she was about to enter the dimmed space, pulling her into a tight hug and burying her face into Byulyi's stomach. She sobbed, croaking out the words "Unnie, I miss you. Do you hate me? Why won't you play with me anymore?"
She realized, she needed to pull herself together. She needed to move on.
So when those two words left Yongsun's mouth, she didn't know what to do. She was elated, yet hesitant. In the end, she decided, maybe taking a risk for the second time isn't that bad.
-
Byulyi and Yongsun have been dating for a year now and the younger woman was more than happy. She never once regretted the decision she had made.
(They were currently sitting on a nearby bench, taking a short break from their so-called "friendly" date as they ate their ice cream in comfortable silence.
Byulyi's fingers gently slipped through Yongsun's, giving her hand a light squeeze as if to say "I love you" which the older responded to by rubbing circles at the back of her palm. Byulyi stared at their joined hands, smiling contently as she went back to eating her ice cream.)
Friends. It was what they have agreed on dubbing themselves in order to avoid the unwanted attention of the public. It was going well until now.
-
Byulyi was back in her dimmed bedroom, heart pounding hard against her ribcage as she scrolled through all the negative comments aimed at her and her lover.
"Disgusting lesbians! Get the fuck out of our country."
"Bet you a thousand they're doing this for attention."
"This is why I never stanned Mamamoo ughhh ew"
"LMAOOOOO another problematic shit done by the so-called 'queens'"
It was a huge slip-up on her side.
(There is nothing more relaxing for Byulyi than being at her favorite place with her favorite person. Byulyi watched Yongsun's lashes flutter close as the latter took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh scent of nature. It was evening. Yongsun was standing by the railings of the bridge overlooking the Han River, with bright colored lights contributing to the romantic atmosphere. It was picture perfect.
Yongsun opened her eyes, a wide smile painted on her lips as she stared at the beautiful view before her. It made her happy, knowing that she could spend this time with Byulyi between their hectic schedules.
Seeing Yongsun's eyes twinkle in excitement, cheeks flushed red making them look more like a mochi, Byulyi couldn't stop herself. She gently took Yongsun's head into her hand, softly carressing her cheeks and eventually leaning in for a kiss.)
Tears slid down her cheek at the memory. Who would've known a beautiful moment would be the cause of the downfall of both their relationship and career?
She had always wished for their relationship to last longer. She was contented being with her, and was willing to stay through sadness and joy even though not being able to proudly show off their relationship to the public pains her. It could not be helped, being a public figure in a conservative country such as South Korea. Even so, she was willing to hide if it means being able to be together with Yongsun. Though, life does not always play by our rules. That's the reality.
Just as the thought came across her mind, she heard a familiar ding, signaling a new message from her other half. Her hand shook as she attempted to reach for her phone. She pressed the power button, expecting for the worst case scenario. She was right.
"Let's break up."
Yeah. It was for the best.

Perfect
Byulyi seemed to be restless, squirming every second despite the soft and comfortable cushion of the sofa. She needed to do something, especially being the active person that she is. She was bored and staying at home for weeks is doing her no good. Eventually, a pitiful whine rivalling that of a weeping puppy escaped her lips as she flailed her arms and feet aimlessly onto the air.
Her movements were forcefully stopped when yongsun's arm trapped her in a tight embrace, her free hand going to her tummy as she nuzzled her nose to the crook of her lover's neck, inhaling her calming scent as she muttered,
"Byul-ah, you shouldn't be moving too much. You're pregnant."
She left a kiss on her nape before pulling her head back to stare at Byulyi's pouting face. The adorable sight immediately replaced her concerned look with a wide grin.
"That pout makes me want to kiss you." Yongsun said, a glint of mischief flashing through her eyes which was trained on the younger's lips.
"Do it then." Byulyi challenged, purposefully pouting more to make it more enticing for Yongsun. Her attempt was proven to be effective when Yongsun pecked her, loosening her hold on her to manuever them to a more comfortable position with Byulyi resting her head on her shoulder.
Yongsun knew it was the former's favorite–her arm placed protectively around her, holding her closely as they watch their favorite k-drama with a huge selection of snacks spread across the coffee table.
The thought of spending the entire day relaxing with her wife instantly brought Byulyi's mood up, smiling to herself as she brought her gaze to Yongsun's focused expression.
Small footsteps coming from the bedroom door frantically approached them, making the couple's attention turn to the new addition to their cuddling session.
"Eomma, mommy!! This is unfair! Why didn't you call me? Haneul thought we were supposed to be watching this together?"
A small figure of a child of about 5 years suddenly came running into the living room, whining at her parents and eventually taking her spot beside Byulyi, snuggling close to her mommy's side.
Now, it was perfect.
"You guys are so cheesy its disgusting" Wheein yelled from across the table, face scrunched up in pure displeasure.
"Why, thank you!" Yongsun giggled, letting her lips form into a mischevious grin as she carressed Byulyi's face, pulling her in and pressing a hard kiss on her cheek, all the while staring at Wheein straight in the eyes.
From Byulyi's perspective, she could see Wheein visibly flinch, groaning at the woman's sudden display of affection and although she, herself, was surprised, she couldn't help but let out a loud snort, finding the situation very amusing.

Insecurities
(Note: Who is who is up to your imagination :P)
"Why would you be Insecure? Sorry, I just wanted to know so we could probably talk it out??" She mumbled, lips pressed against the crown of my head as she gently stroked my hair making my body relax as she held me in her arms.
"Uhm.. it's just that a lot of people like you. More than you know. It's a good thing, really, but they're so much better than me.." I replied, nuzzling my face onto the crook of her neck.
The short conversation was followed by a moment of silence. I could tell she was contemplating on what to say, so I urged her on, looking up at her with curious eyes.
"A lot of people like you too." She said, voice a bit hesitant as she stared at the ceiling, letting out a shaky sigh.
"How do you know that?" I asked with an amused voice. I was genuinely interested.
"Well..." She stared back at me, giving me a small smile.
-
"Do you see that girl over there? You guys are close right? I see you guys together all the time."
"Ah, her? Well, I guess you could say we're really close." She chuckled. "Why do you ask?"
She watched as the guy smiled sheepishly at her, pressing his palms together into a pleading position.
"Could you, maybe, help me out with her?"
She stared at him blankly, a bit dumbfounded at the question.
"I don't think I can help you with that, I'm sorry." She gave him a polite smile, bowing as she started to make her way towards the aforementioned woman. The guy's voice, though, stopped her in her tracks.
"Why can't you?" He whined, disappointment evident in his voice.
"Well," She turned to him, her expression and stance overflowing with confidence and determination. "The girl's mine."
-
"Are you serious?" I giggled, my face suddenly heating up at the story.
"Yeah..." She shyly replied as she tightened her hold around me.
The way she responded to the situation, honestly made my heart flutter. Not to mention, the fact that I could feel her heart pounding just as much as mine right now made my smile widen even more. She was just too cute.
I shifted in her hold, crawling on top of her to give her a kiss on her forehead. "I love you. And I'm always yours."
She grinned, staring back at me with fond eyes.
"Just as I am yours."
Nostalgia
It was a peaceful afternoon, not too late for the area to finally dim out. As usual, Byulyi could be found in Yongsun's apartment, which, if the latter was being honest, she didn't mind.
It had been a normal day for the two with the usual bickerings until Byulyi suddenly insisted for the both of them to binge watch their past show appearances, "to see their progress" as she had put in a suggestive tone. To see how much they have improved as idols, starting from four of the thousands of ambitious trainees in the country and now as one of the top girl groups admired by many.
Yongsun was about to refuse, embarrassed to see her past self, when she saw the look on Byulyi's face. It was soft and reminiscent. The yellow tone of the setting sun hits her face, emphasizing the beauty she had always possessed. She looked ethereal, at least to Yongsun's eyes.
The ambiance was perfect for the moment, from the soft yellow tone to the melodious chirping of birds in the background.
Unconciously, Yongsun nodded in agreement, still stunned.
A few minutes later, Yongsun and Byulyi were sitting on the couch, when Byulyi decided she wanted to lay her head down on Yongsun's lap. She placed her hand on her thigh, making Yongsun turn her attention at the woman beside her, who is now giving her a questioning look.
"Can I?" Her eyes silently pleaded, to which Yongsun replied with a slight nod. She placed her hand on Byulyi's shoulder and gently, she pulled her down, giggling when hair tickled the skin of her lap. Yongsun let her adjust to a more comfortable position, heart fluttlering when she saw a small smile forming on the younger girl's lips. She stared down at her features in pure admiration.
Yongsun's fingers combed through Byulyi's soft hair as she finally turned her gaze back to the television wherein an introduction of their own group back in 2014 was being played.
