The nerd!skz agenda is stronger than ever
You look down the strange stairs in front of you. It had gray concrete steps, leading downwards with a rust-colored handle (it was just peeling paint) before stopping at a door with a tiny steel mesh window. This was peak serial-killer material, and you would’ve turned your heel to leave if not for the giant “CLUBHOUSE” lettering above. The upstairs (and above-ground for that matter) rooms were reserved for the big clubs, the pre-law clubs, the political clubs, the environmental clubs. Other smaller rooms was for the cereal club, the knitting club, etc etc.
The basement was for the clubs that barely met the quota for being an official club— around less than 10 people. So when this cute guy named Felix (followed by the other seven members of the club) asked you to join their Lotr club, you hadn’t expected much. But a dingy murder-basement might be drawing the line.
But you had promised to show up. So you puffed out your chest, shared your location with a friend, pulled out your pepper spray, and a stick (to prop the door open) and descended into the darkness.
The door was heavy, and when you finally got yourself through the door to the other side, you were met with a hallway. An empty, normal hallway with linoleum tiles and air pipes, and a distant thumping of feet upstairs. It was like a high school hallway, different doors leading to other room. Most of them were abandoned, but most of had their doors slightly adjar…for circulation? Jump-scares? The “Dead-Plant Club” was littered with dried leaf litter, a sofa with a sprouting potato. The “Tiramisu Club” had a small kitchen setup that looked nowhere near food safe. At the very end of the hallway was a warm glow emanating from a wide-open door with an ivy door curtain. A blue balloon was in front of it, and as you got closer you saw the instructions written on its smooth surface:
Speak friend and enter.
You heard some quiet chuckling and shushes, but you played along anyways.
“Mellon?” Your answer echoed in the hallway.
