When this riding suit first hit the market several years ago I wasn’t exactly blown away. The Moose Racing brand didn’t really seem to be a company poised to do great things in the ADV market. Particularly as a motocross focused company.
The more I looked into the gear they were offering and then the accessories they started building I began to question my initial opinion. Turns out I was right to question my own preconceived opinion and the Expedition suit has turned out to be versatile, durable, and very cost effective.
Jacket
The jacket construction is straightforward and simple. Made with excellent materials and looks as good today as it did 1 year ago when I started wearing it each day. The material is a nylon laminated shell with a reflective component. The color is black and silver but unless you are situated in the direct sun it doesn’t heat up like a normally black jacket does. I have always preferred lighter colored riding apparel and this combo could be improved immensely with an all silver or some other lighter colored options.
There is a bevy of venting on the front and rear. The major issue is they are all on the chest. The whole suit is designed around the adventure touring market which all have windshields and small fairings. So venting designed to work on a bike without that type of protection just bugs me. None of these riding suits seem to be designed with the right vent configuration, which means that the Moose Racing Expedition is just as nice as the riding suits costing twice as much. The quality and durability are on par with those same suits.
Favorite Feature
Moose Racing used magnetic closers for the collar and the top and bottom of the jacket. Wonderful, simple, easy to use and operate with gloves on.
Least Favorite Feature
In their infinite wisdom after using magnetic closers for the top and bottom, they somehow decided that cheap velcro was the answer for the body of the jacket closure. It snags clothes and just doesn’t hold that well after a long period of use.

Pants
The pants are just as useful and versatile as the jacket. Armor on the hips, knees and a padded rear make them very comfortable. Vented for temperature control they remain comfortable in all but the hottest of temperatures. The legs have several velcro adjustments and a side zipper to make sure you can wear the pants with any style or size of boot you want. They are also very adjustable for size and have one of my favorite features, suspenders. Overpants without suspenders are a pain, always falling down, or needing adjustment.

Verdict
A riding suit that retails for $675 MSRP in the adventure market is practically a steal. The fact that it is full-featured, durable and this well designed makes it possibly the best deal in adventure riding suit.
