#3369 - Moraea flaccida - One-leaf Cape Tulip
AKA various species of Homeria.
Another pretty plant from the extreme SW of Africa, that's become a highly invasive weed in Southern Australia and Norfolk Island. It's also poisonous, causing loss of appetite, weakness and depression, blindness, dysentery, scouring and paralysis of the hind legs. Death usually occurs within 3 days. In some parts of WA the problem has become so serious farmers can no longer run stock.
Grows in a wide variety of soils, especialluy in pasture and disturbed ground. The flowers can also be yellow.
It's possible that some of the plants here are hybrids with M. collina, also from the Western Cape. That would be a bit surprising, since in their original range any hybrids are sterile.
Chittering, NE of Perth.
