I'm tired of the Clay fans trying to justify everything he did and blaming Bloberta for it,they are both bad,ALMOST EVERY ADULT IN THE SHOW IS,gosh there is child neglect, violence and crime don't matter where you look at,it's the point of the show to criticise it and make you think about it in a way too, I'm not saying what he or Bloberta or anyone did is fine, but there is a certain point in life where you,as an adult or not, have to take accountability of your actions and beliefs, this thing of trying to wash his hands blaming Bloberta of his alcoholism and abuse towards Orel is too, based in misogyny,he was his own person, what people does to you changes you,but you too have to decide what to do with what they made of you,get it?
It's fine to like a problematic character, what is not right is to try to excuse it's actions, fuck, I like Censordoll but you are not seeing me saying she's an angel, she is a horrendous human being,it's part of her character,if you have to change everything about Clay and treat him like a child then maybe you don't like Clay that much.
We are ignoring the time the series takes time in,what was considered normal and what wasn't,that it happened doesn't mean it was fine, but it happened.
People demand complex characters, but in a search of meaning and political correctivity end up ignoring the dept of the construction of them, not everything is black and white,in this matter at least, the show doesn't glorify his actions, why should you?
