J) Unpopular opinion I have
I don’t think any of these are actually unpopular because this fandom is so tiny so here’s a short list of My Opinions.
Liebe endet nie is the worst duet. If they had to keep it, it should’ve been a Claire and Mathilde duet à la I Know Him So Well but I digress.
Ethan Freeman and Bernhard Viktorin play Alfred the best.
Very random thought I’ve just had, but I think it would’ve been interesting to have young Mathilde at least appear in some of the flashbacks (like the trial scene).
There’s too many unnecessary songs and not enough reprises.
And, finally, the musical tries too hard to redeem Alfred after spending two hours telling us how he ruined Claire’s life.
K) Favourite plotline
It has to be the plotline about Claire’s and Alfred’s daughter. Though this is one of the things where I desperately wish the musical had kept closer to the play. That’s a ramble for another day though!
