These past 24 hours have, quite honestly, been terrible.

The Boss had a problem. It was 4am, they were cooped up in their suite and they hadn't stopped watching security footage, news footage and even just videos recorded on a phone, all involving one Johnny Gat kicking nothing but ass. They rubbed their exhausted eyes, the skin on their face feeling way too tight. It was near identical. The way he moved, the way he shot, the way he killed. The Johnny Gat of this reality had barely diverged from the Johnny Gat of their reality. They hadn't realised how little he had changed from his past life, and that broke open chinks in their armour. Their safety net. With his habits and dynamics that still unwound them. If they got too attached to this Johnny, the Boss wouldn't be able to take losing him a third time. They knew they would shatter upon impact. It was terrifying. Their eyes drifted back to the computer screens, knee tucked to their chest, and gazed at the running images of multiple Johnny's murdering his way through life. The Boss' fingers reached out, brushing his jaw on the flat screen, wondering how in the Hell they were meant to stay away from him now.
