more tirzeposting bc i can't play chune rn -
the obvious Freedom of arrakis despite its harshness is in tirze's ability to avoid her marriage, and to largely avoid the pall that the BG had been casting over her life even in her failure to legitimately become one of them.
but i think the much harder part for her to accept is that she is now free from the suk school, too - something she's come (alongside her fiance, to a degree, despite the irony) to view as her only chance for a life that meant anything or allowed her any degree of freedom. the thing is that the suk school is still highly profit-bound medical care for the elite, and it is NOT meaningfully better than any of the other great schools - it's not the 'nice, compassionate' one, it's just built a reputation meant to encourage that image. this is a discomfort she has to resolve after resting so much of her tenuous mental health on the ideal that being "less badly" abused by the suk school was better than being a bene gesserit whipping girl, which itself was better than the preceding situations by various degrees.
to be free to exercise medical care without being beholden to the suk school and - eventually - not even being beholden by her imperial (bene tlielax) conditioning (even though she still is :) but not in the traditional suk way any longer, now in a worse near-ghola way where the bt don't gaf if she kills people and in fact want her to Kill More People) means arrakis is the stage for her to no longer dubiously move in between sets of masters and compromises to her selfhood and agency.
yes, shit is still afoot, but if she stops mourning over her fading suk identity, she can instead become someone capable of dealing with The Bullshit. this isn't that different from all the times she's been forced to adapt before - she can do it again. she Must do it again.
