Three weeks ago I didn't find Covid, it found me. I tested positive for Covid, but I was feeling poorly days before I took the test and thought I had flu and which is why it took me longer to test.

Please continue to test, but testing too soon can show a negative, before a positive test. My experiences show that if you have been exposed to someone with Covid, they need to be given time for the test to accurately show they have Covid. If they test too soon, the test can show negative, which can turn out to be false negative. The person I was in contact with who thought he was negative, was actually positive.

Four days later I tested positive, by which time I was already exposed to the virus. Nineteen days on, and I was able to produce a negative test. Does the virus leave the body once you test negative, or like others viruses, is it something you live with, and is it something that lies dormant? These are my questions.

We need to understand Covid more

More research is needed to understand the virus and what happens to the virus when you test negative. We know we can still catch and spread Covid. Is it because the virus hasn’t left the body and meeting someone who is newly infected, can reinfect? How does this virus really work?

In the meantime the world is ignoring the fact the virus is still out there. No precautionary measures are in place and we're still falling foul of the virus. What is it also going to take for attitudes to change?

So this morning’s phone Dr appointment has left some unpacking to do... Despite me being the only one sick the assumption it it was viral. What I have now is Post-Infection Irritable Bowel Syndrome (PI-IBS) which we will be keeping a close eye on because of some of the other sh-tuff going on too. Basically this virus seeeeeriously pissed my system off and it could be quite awhile (up to 10 years according to some of the literature) before it’s 100% back-back, if ever. I’m old... lol. Expect pain and continued upset for awhile. I also have Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) which we basically already knew but now it’s been named. The (really) good news is the scans show that there isn’t significant scarring to my liver, yet, despite some of the other symptoms (bloat, pain, swelling etc...) going on in there soooo...it has not developed into Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). That was a big worry. They ran all the hepatitis tests -all clear- and a battery of other tests to see about various other viruses etc... including several childhood ones... most of which I still have yet to get. lol... being a healthy child is not paying off later it seems, I almost died when I got fifths (slap cheek) when pregnant with boy 4 -15 years ago. I’m only getting older and slower at healing. I am allowed back on all my meds again, including my pain killers (5 weeks without, oye) and supplements. Experimenting in Street Harassment

Questions: What do men think they will achieve with cat-calls or “how you doin” or “smile beautiful”? Is there a different mentality/reasoning behind calling from a speeding-away car versus following a women down the block versus staying stationary and continuing to talk at women as they approach until they’ve walked a suitable distance away? What is the conscious goal of these interactions (different from the explanation that social scientists/psychologists might give to explain this behavior)? If the answer is getting dates/sexual favors/women in general, does it work? How often ? If it doesn’t, what is the impetus behind continuing an action with a general failure rate? What is the protocol in place if rare success is achieved?  Which lead to (plot twist) 

Requests/Suggestions: Can someone do a psych experiment on this? I’m thinking of female confederates (if I’m using that term correctly here) responding positively to some of these approaches and then recording/reporting what happens from there. I’m not sure how to do this while guaranteeing these women’s safety. I’d also love to interview men with my questions above, but how to ensure honesty? And of course there’s the selection bias - who will respond to a call for men to talk about catcalling and street harassment? Very importantly, race and SES are embedded in this conversation. For one, this study would need to cast a net that pulls in men of all races (because yes men of all races and classes do this) as well as consulting sources that talk about why we might be led to believe these are exclusively poor/black/Latino male activities.
