thenakedgeologist: Once you get this, you must share five random facts about yourself. Then pass this on to your ten favourite followers!
Here's ten people: morereal, shannhorn, mermaidrienne, whoisfriday55, wannabeoperasinger, petitmadelaine, astudyandlibrary, notworththebrisk, designerwalker, eunmee.
Whenever I read the word "wink", I have to physically wink. It doesn't matter if it's in a book, a magazine, an online conversation in the context of *wink*, I still can't help it. I did it twice while writing this.
My burps are usually two parts, a high sound kind of like a hiccup immediately followed by a lower, robust burping sound.
I've only had a lucid dream once. I dreamed that I was on a pirate ship that was also somehow a harp (I instinctively "knew" this). My friend Ellen who plays harp was teaching me how to play the ship/harp, which involved hitting colour-coded ropes coming down from the masts (which, colour-coded strings is actually part of real harp playing) with drum sticks. Also, the ship was sailing in extremely rough seas and it was a struggle to stay upright and ON the ship/harp, let alone actually "play" the thing. Eventually, we docked at this inlet, but we had to jump down to a very very small lifeboat to take us to shore. I'm talking at LEAST a 100 ft. drop. In highly windy stormy weather, guaranteed that if you missed the target you'd die. In my dream, I was terrified, and then it just occurred me that it was a dream, so then I "fast-forwarded" to being on the lifeboat. (Then I woke up.)
The main reason I started playing double bass is because in grade 5, before we went through the whole grade 6 band registration thing, I saw a bass under a table in the music room and my tiny tiny self said, "Ooooh, that's really big. I want to play THAT."
I didn't have my first kiss until I was 21.
I've been tagged! My questions for you are below if you've been tagged, and tag ten new people. :) These questions are from snazzysunbear.
1) Favorite candies?
I love Twerpz, but they stopped making them. I am a strong believer in the three food groups of junk food (chocolate, salty, and sweet) so I'd say Cadbury bars with the pretzels and peanut butter in them, roast chicken chips, and Big Feet.
2) Names of all your pets since childhood.
Kelp (a Siamese fighting fish), Riley (golden retriever), and Sophie (golden retriever).
3) A childhood toy you still have?
ALL of my stuffed animals, most notably, my teddy bear named Teddy who is as old as I am, and my Kitty Kitty Kitten named Kitty, that I got when I was 4.
4) Favorite weather?
Really sunny and really really really windy. (Kite flying weather, basically).
5) The last thing that made you smile?
A text from my boyfriend telling me to look up "poopenstein" on Urban Dictionary.
6) A memory from a holiday?
One Christmas we hid Riley underneath the tree skirt and took photos of him.
7) Last 3 books that you read?
The Rosie Project, Moonwalking with Einstein, and Rockbound.
8) Your most enjoyable hobbies?
Kite flying, reading books, crocheting, and quilting.
9) What is frustrating you right now?
Just watched Captain Phillips, and watching everyone make scary decisions was frustrating.
10) What was one of the nicest compliments you ever received?
You are the strongest and bravest person I know.
My questions for you!
1. What is your favourite book of all time, and why?
2. What's your favourite dessert?
3. Tell me about the best day of your life to date.
4. In what position do you sleep?
5. What's your favourite alcoholic drink (virgin varieties accepted)?
6. What's your favourite household chore?
7. What was your favourite story/book as a child?
8. What's your favourite flower?
9. If you could travel to any country right now, where would you go?
10. If you were going to give a lecture á la the "Last Lecture on Earth", what would you talk about?
It's been awhile since I signed up to support the MORE/REAL project on Kickstarter. Around that time it was cold out and I was kicking around the idea of getting an iPhone. I now have an iPhone, the cooler seasons are coming around again and I won't need to resort to fingerless gloves to use it. I chose the Sharpie cap because I never have a Sharpie in my bag when I need it. Now I definitely will. The packaging was clever and managed to safely transport the cap although it did come loose in the shipping process and it appears someone got curious and cut open one of the stickers that secured it closed. So far so good. I just hope the metallic smell wears off a little.
