Most of the time, Mon-El could barely keep his eyes from Kara, but today, while she was busy with other things, he’d chosen to do a little reading, and found himself quickly engrossed in the story. He remained aware of her always, the clicking of keys, the sips of coffee, the occasional shuffling of her feet. Then, a sound that was familiar, but one he couldn’t quite place. After finishing the current chapter, he glanced up to find her laptop replaced with a pad of paper. Curious, he tilted his head, watching her as she worked, questioning whether or not to disturb her.
She had hit a wall with her article, and after two cups of coffee, she had given up for the night. As she shut her laptop, she lifted her eyes and found the figure of her boyfriend, her mate reading on the couch. Kara bit her lip, the light from the windows was hitting him so perfectly...and she couldn’t quite go to bed yet.
Quietly so she didn’t attract his attention, she moved to the corner that held her art supplies and grabbed her sketch pad and pencils and set to work. She was so engrossed in sketching him that it took her a minute to realize he was watching her.
And on cue, the blood rushed to her cheeks and she bit her lip, but still forced herself to continue. “You’re watching me.” She told him, her eyes never leaving the page.
