Space: Above and Beyond premiered in 1996 on FOX, and was cancelled after one season (23 episodes).

SciFi series go to FOX, and oddly enough, the SciFi Channel to die, way too early.

I came across a post earlier advising that Space: Above and Beyond was first broadcast exactly 25 years ago today! I have no idea what made me search for this show today of all days but kinda spooky, huh? 😉 . . . This was one of my very favourite shows as a tween and I will forever bemoan the fact that it only got one solitary season to run. It still stands up very well even now and I still class it as one of my top favourite shows of all time. I was so happy when it finally got a DVD release a number of years ago (I actually have 2 copies - one imported from the US and the (much) later released UK edition.
