Oh, there is so much pain in her heart, but just looking at her daughter made her feel even more love. There were few regrets, few mistakes in her life; Morgan certainly wasn’t one of them. Pepper never knew it was possible to love another human being that much but here she was. Brushing her fingers through her daughter’s hair she kept humming the melody of the song she just sang.

No matter how bad she was feeling — though she certainly didn’t feel that way right now — her daughter always managed to put a smile on her face. Turning around, arm resting on the back of the couch as she looked at her daughter, Pepper reached out a hand for her to grab, waiting for her to come closer and grab it.  ❝ Hi baby. ❞

"Di?" The little brunette pinned her big brown eyes at the older lady, tugging on the hem of her dress. "Could I have a cookie? I don't reach there." *cries*

Diana came down to the kitchen to grab herself a cup of water. A nightmare woke her up and in order not to bother Pepper, who had been sleeping soundly next to her, she left the room to calm herself. Diana didn't even hear the girl approach, which made her jump a little, even with the sweet voice or Morgan. She must have gotten that power of sneaking up on people from her father, she thought. Still, she looked down at the girl with the brightest smile and sighed.

"If you promise not to tell your mother I am giving you a cookie when it is so late at night. She will kill me."
