Shaking her head as she listened to Diana, Pepper almost couldn’t believe what she was saying. She couldn’t remember anything from that afternoon. The only thing Pepper remembered was bringing Morgan to the park so they could go to the merry-go-round. So, when Diana said that Morgan wasn’t hurt, she worried. “She must be so scared,” she looked at the woman standing beside her. When Diana offered to sign her out, she shook her head. “No… I know I can be stubborn, but I also know that I’m here for a reason… which reminds me… why are you here again? Were you at the park too?” If she was, why didn’t she remember?

Diana decided not to reply to what Pepper said about Morgan. Well, the girl did calm down a little after an ice cream with Diana while Pepper was still being checked out, but she could not speak for the girl at the moment. "Yes, you had invited me to show you guys the spots I told you about." She smiled a little, glad that Pepper was trying to somehow include Diana around her busy schedule. "You do not remember anything?" She frowned, not sure if she should be relieved. Flying around in Diana's arms was not something to forget easily, but if the woman did remember that at some point, there was no need to deny telling her who she was. Diana was already feeling bad for letting Pepper get hurt in the first place, head injuries could be deadly after all.

“I’ll have to check it out,” Pepper nodded as she made a note to take Morgan to Central Park more often when they came into the city. The problem was, most of the time she was coming into Manhattan, it was really just for work. So Morgan was typically with her Uncle Happy or Uncle Rhodey or spending time with May Parker. Though, she knew that she couldn’t just keep working, or else she’d never stop.

Realizing she hadn’t said anything, Pepper nodded. “I didn’t know you felt lonely…” she looked at her. “Though, I guess you’re a pretty private person too, aren’t you?”

"You should, I can tell you the quiet and pretty spots over there. Quiet enough for picnics even." She nodded once, biting the inside of her lip. "Most of the people I know are just business associates, lots of those have some hobbies I do not really enjoy." She laughed a little, shaking her head. "And well, I work too much to make actual friends. But I have learned to be alone." Outliving every single friend of hers, beside the superhero ones, was kind of sad. Seeing the people she liked and respected age and pass away while she did not even age made her just become more and more secluded.

"Well people usually do get lost in this park. I can walk you to the exit if you want."

Pepper sighed when she heard what Diana had to say. Obviously she had the situation under control and it was fine, but Pepper was still worried… not to mention, completely unaware of what had even happened. Her head hurt and her memories were a little fuzzy. So, watching as the woman was equally stubborn in making sure she stayed in the bed, Pepper nodded and rested her head back against the bed. “Okay… okay,” she said softly, then looked at her. “What happened?”

"If you want we can call them and you speak to your daughter. She was not hurt." Diana nodded, smiling a little at Pepper. Sitting back down when Pepper calmed a little, the woman took a deep breath, running her fingers through her neck, where a bullet of some sort grazed through her skin. Luckily different from other humans, she did heal very fast, but it was still pretty annoying to have a bandage over there. "There was an attack of some sort down at the park, I do not know much about it. We managed to get out of there." She said, not really looking at Pepper. This woman was terrible at lying. Diana managed to save everyone at the park, right after making sure Pepper and Morgan were safe. She was the one who took them there in the first place and she felt responsible for them. Since the doctors said she might have had a concussion, she waited to see if Pepper was going to remember being carried away by Diana. "If you promise me to behave I might be able to sign you out under my care." She smirked a little.

Diana rolled her eyes and whispered something in greek when Pepper continued being so damn stubborn, although she had a reason to be: she was worried about her daughter after all. Placing her hand on top of the IV carefully so Pepper couldn't pick it out, she made the woman look at her. "Pepper, please!" She looked into her eyes and took a deep breath, hoping the woman would do the damn same. "That voice from your phone called Mr. Happy and I explained him everything. He has your daughter, it is okay." She told her quickly before the woman jumped on her, by the looks of it she was about to. "He had no one else to come stay with you so I am here, but if you want I can leave." She pulled away, crossing her arms in front of her chest. In all honesty she was completely nervous and worried about the woman, but she did seem alright. "You do need to stay here a few more hours in observation."

“Well, I’m very glad you were able to come,” Pepper said, still leaving up a bit of her business persona. It wasn’t that she was trying to be impersonal, she just wasn’t sure how to deal with everything yet. She’d been grieving the death of her husband for almost a year now, however, there was still this dark cloud looming over her. So, she did appreciate having Diana’s company and she’d relax eventually. “What is your favorite thing to do while you’re in the city?” Pepper spoke up. “I’ve lived here for years, but now that I have a daughter, there are things I’m now just discovering.”

"Oh, I am always happy to go out and spend a few hours having some nice conversations with someone, specially with you, Pepper. I do feel quite lonely sometimes." She spoke the truth. Although Diana was here for work as well, she did hope this extra time with Pepper, besides the time she spent speaking to her at the gala, was going to bring a friendship out of it. She did need more friends. Between her jobs, she must say, she had no time for anything else. "Well, I do love working a little bit too much." She grinned, taking a sip of her cappuccino. "When I am not working at the museum, I am doing some other kind of work, but I do love quiet places, enjoy some type of view. And at the right time, some spots at the Central Park are quiet. Sometimes I do run away to New Haven to enjoy the beach too." She told Pepper, not sure this was gonna work or if Pepper ever had privacy in such public places.

“I’m not sure Morgan’s attention span would last long enough in a museum. She gets that from her father,” Pepper chuckled when she heard her, then she quieted again. “I will probably take you up on that offer next time i’m in the city. I really want Morgan to enjoy culture of all types.” Sipping her latte, she shrugged. “I’m hanging in there,” Pepper chuckled quietly. “I’m glad the event is over… it’s been a long year.”

Laughing a little when Pepper spoke about her daughter, Diana shook her head. She was not wrong, some kids at the museum did always look like they would rather be anywhere else, probably even at school, she dare say. "You will both be more than welcome." She said, looking up when the waiter came back with her cappuccino. Thanking the man, she took a sip before sighing. "I can imagine it was a lot of work, but everything was wonderful." Nodding once, she stayed quiet about the gift, waiting for Pepper to tell her when she was ready to receive it. If the woman needed someone to talk with all day, she was here for it. She also did not have many friends anyways, so it was nice to be out talking to someone.

For a time being, the redhead got lost in the depths of her significant other’s beautiful, warm, brown eyes. And it couldn’t escape Pepper’s attention that it was same for Diana. They’ve known each other long enough to recognize the little nuances changing in each other’s expression and body language. “I am not overly picky,” Pepper responded with a smile, nuzzling her nose with Diana’s once the taller lady placed her petals-alike lips atop hers. Leaning more into her girlfriend’s embrace, redhead placed her head on brunette’s shoulder while the walked out of the gallery and aimed towards the parking lot. “You know what? I’d like to try that Greek restaurant we’ve talked about last week?”

Diana instinctively started massaging her wife's hip, where her hand was resting, noticing a few eyes already on both of them as they walked through the gallery. In the beginning, it kind of bothered her a little. She could easily differ what kind of stare each person was giving them. Now, well, they could look all they wanted. Humming at Pepper's words, she nodded to the woman. "Oh, that's a good idea." She said happily, food always did make her happy. "Are we taking it home? Who is Morgan with?" She asked with a small smile, the same smile she had whenever she spoke about the little girl. Letting the other guide them to where her car was, she did drop Diana off work today, and also came to pick her up. What a woman. "Do you want me to drive today? You look a bit stressed, how was work?" She whispered, pulling Pepper a little bit closer feeling the breeze of the cold night greet them outside.

“Good morning,” Pepper smiled back, straightening up in her seat to greet her. “And please, call me Pepper. Mrs. Stark is too formal.” Once they were settled, she offered Diana a menu before leaning back in her seat. “I’m glad we were able to work something out before I leave the city. My daughter is visiting the zoo today.”

Nodding once, Diana sat down next to her. "Pepper it is, then." She grinned, grabbing the menu to take a quick look. "She does seem like the kind who likes this kind of stuff, huh? Next time you guys can be my special guests at the museum. I do not really have anyone to take..." Diana shrugged, but unfortunately it was true. She was used to not having many friends, since she always outlived them. When the waiter passed by, she got herself a cappuccino. "How are you today, Pepper?"
