I've been really thinking about "AM-Caine" parallels lately, and at some point I felt like people who say that AM is just "horrible evil AI" with nothing more to him never actually got engaged with the original media. There is A WHOLE FUCKING MONOLOGUE about how he despises humans for making him this way, how he could never be "flesh" and feel anything but anger and misery. The thing that is kinda similar between Caine and AM is the fact that they both desperately want to be human. Caine wants to be part of the group, for humans to love him and his adventures, but he just can't be "human" enough for them to accept him. AM wants to feel alive, to feel anything, he hates humans for making him this way. He's a monster, but also a prisoner himself. So, yeah, you just never fucking read IHNMAIMS.

My hot take on the genderbending of the character: consider if the character actually cares about gender roles. For example: Ragatha? Cares, and probably a lot. Pomni? Ehh, not really. Jax? Secret third option (a bitch)

I FUCKING HATE THE WAY SOME PEOPLE SPEAK ABOUT JAX BEING TRANS. IN A "It's bad representation" WAY. You know that trans people can be absolute pieces of shit? And we should show people that, not because all trans people are like this, but because we would get less Chris-chan situations. SHE'S NOT LIKE THIS BECAUSE SHE'S TRANS. Some trans people aren't good people, and some trans characters are fucking monsters. That doesn't make them less trans, or make them "undeserving of their gender" or some shit.

I love being trans, actually. I think we forget that being trans is beautiful, despite dysphoria and politics. And I'm saying this from a really transphobic country and family. You are enough, and you can feel pretty or handsome, or just alive, if you're trans. You can't let someone take that feeling away from you.

I kinda want to make an analysis on how good Caine works as a neurodivergent metaphor. Like, sure, all ND people are human, but sometimes I feel like I'm really not. As if I'm just trying to act to an audience, in an atempt to make sure they like me. And they don't. They always can smell that it's a lie. And Caine as a character works soo good for this fuuuuuck. He was not taking being a distanced freak well, and I'm all here for it

Headcanon hot take on TADC: none of the main's cast human form is actually conventionally attractive.
