5 Reasons why healthy people can't loose weight.
Do you consider yourself healthy but you still can’t figure out why your not loosing weight. Many woman feel healthy but are not healthy. They can’t figure out why they aren’t loosing weight because there maybe some hidden problems that they can’t see.
1. Stress
Working in NYC, I have so many clients who eat right and exercise daily but can’t seem to escape the stressful NY lifestyle. A hormone called Cortisol is released when we are stressed. Cortisol is known to increased appetite, cravings for sugar, and weight gain. High levels of Cortisol is associated with that unwanted extra fat in the belly area. I always tell my clients to make sure to find ways to distress. That can be meditation, music, reading or whatever works for you.
2. Eating unhealthy “healthy” food
As more and more people become health conscious it is becoming a trend to label products as natural or healthy. Just because it is labeled healthy does not mean it is healthy for you. Remember hidden ingredients like GMOs, sugar and sodium are both inflammatory and causes excess weight gain.

3. Hormonal Imbalance

I always recommend checking your hormone levels. Being an athlete I discovered that I had an hormonal imbalance due to my workout schedule. I was required to workout everyday and this was using up my progesterone and causing my estrogen to dominate. Many woman have an estrogen dominance problem due to environmental factors such as pesticides, plastics, industrial waste products, car exhaust, meat, soaps, furniture and carpet.
Your parents didn’t lie when they told you to eat your veggies. Cruciferous veggies like cabbage, kale, bok choy, broccolli and other similar green vegetables are great for controlling your hormones and keeping your weight in balance. These veggies are high in fiber and causes you to feel fuller faster. They are also a great source of DIM which helps promote hormone balance.
4. Not sleeping linked to weight gain.
Did you know that the hormones, Ghrelin and Leptin, that tell us when to stop and start eating are the same hormones that tell us when you are sleep deprived. Snacking and overeating has been linked to not getting enough sleep. Make sure to get the proper sleep that your body needs.
5. Sunscreen making you fat?
Vitamin D comes from the sun but with the use of sunscreen we aren’t receiving it. When we don’t get enough Vitamin D we can suffer from allergies, asthma, weight gain, fatigue, food allergies and even cancer. Get your Vitamin D levels checked at your Dr.
