I just heard this image is a winner in the PhotoPlus+ PhotoAnnual Contest in the Magazine/Editorial category! I’m very pleased and grateful. I shot this for Haute Living Mag. at the Morimoto restaurant in NYC. During the scout for this shoot I saw that chef Morimoto had racks of aging chickens in the walk-in fridge. We did this shot as an homage to the classic Albert Watson image of "Birds" director Alfred Hitchcock. Big thank you to Chef for being a good sport and indulging me on this concept. I recently spent a day shooting the "Iron Chef" Masaharu Morimoto at his restaurant @morimotonewyork for @HauteLiving. He indulged me in channeling a deadpan Hitchcock in an homage to the classic Albert Watson image of "The Birds" director holding a goose. When I saw he has racks of aging chickens in the walk in fridge, it seemed like the thing to do. I also asked if he had a knife we could use as a prop, and he came back with what I would call a sword. After all, he is the “Iron chef”. Ever expanding, chef is about to launch his newest concept restaurant in Miami. How does one celebrate a double birthday?
