That post was already pretty long so I decided to make a new one. Also, I encourage others to respond to this / you to ask others who’d be cool with it, because as that post demonstrated there’s a huge degree of difference. And my sexual attraction is a wibbly wobbly thing.

Some of the things that exist in various combinations with each other:

Hot stomach feeling. I mostly don’t get this in immediate response to people but I think it happens sometimes? Maybe more common for other people? Like the feeling of your body literally turning on like a switch like “ok its sex time now?” Hot in the tummy. IDK if people with penises get a different feeling? Sex feelings.

“That is a nice way that you look” which is sort of just aesthetic appreciation. I assume most ace-spec people experience this. I assume most allo-spec people experience this, but I’ve heard it expressed less on its own. I think many people are a little wary about expressing it because it can easily be seen as an expression of attraction.

“You’re so beautiful I could die” which is like aesthetic appreciation except it makes me feel like a giggly school girl or a scorned lover in a Greek play. It’s like being punched in the stomach by aesthetic appreciation. Leaves me a teeny bit breathless and heart-fluttery. Also pretty instinctive change in body language. Makes me think about sensory/sensual stuff. Might imagine kissing them, or stroking their hair, or feeling how soft their skin is, or putting my hands around their waist. I mostly daydream about us lying in a bed full of curtains and wine and pancakes, we’re naked and married and giggling.

Probably what I assume is “default” attraction that most people experience? Sex doesn’t come into that very directly for me, but I think that’s because I have complicated feelings about sex. I could easily imagine that same sort of idle daydreaming including sex.

“Damn I want a piece of that” which is I guess a variation on the previous, but a more sexual less everything else response. Little bit of a warm tummy feeling, change in body language (makes me wanna bite my lip, which is a Cliche.) I might think about straddling them. I assume other people think about other sex stuff.

Including them in your masturbation fantasies. I do this very rarely and never with random strangers. But I am given to understand that other people potentially fantasize about anyone they’re attracted to.

Fantasies, minus masturbation. This I think is also a very common kind of attraction? Like, this certainly occupies about half of my idle thoughts, but again my fantasies are very low on the Actual Human People front. And people also don’t talk about it a tonne? But from those who do speak to me about these things, it seems to be a common one? So it’s like a masturbation fantasy, minus the masturbating, and prompted by and/or featuring an attractive real human person. 

So I think basically it’s like... you look at them and the way they look is nice, like art, in combination with Generic Turned On Feeling. And then maybe you daydream about doing sex and/or romantic stuff with them.
