'Holy shit I'm not dead'
Cheering mentally in your head because, somehow, God smiled at you and decided your suffering can be prolonged a little longer for the sake of plot. Although you think maybe perhaps there isn't a God, because what cruel being would willingly put you through the situation you're currently in?
Despite thanking the fact you aren't dead, sharp pain stabs your head, not to mention how the rest of your body aches. Your nose also burns from whatever the hell you're smelling at this moment, you resist the urge to gag at it.
'My lungs… Ow…. I need to hold my breath… or I'll die from the air here…'
The pain you feel in your head throbs again, and isn't helped by the fact Rudo is crushing you in a hug, clearly unaware that you're conscious again. He's currently sobbing his eyes out, has clearly woken up a few minutes before you, and assumed you died.
So much for hoping you wouldn't traumatize him.
You groan in pain and open your eyes finally in an attempt for Rudo to notice you aren't dead yet, and Rudo stops crying almost instantly, stifling his sobs to a couple sniffles.
"[Name]..?" Rudo sniffles again, "Are you alive?" pulling back from you and grasping your shoulders.
You moan in pain again, "Yes Rudo… I lived… Please…. My shoulders…." He loosens his grip immediately to your relief.
"Thank god… [Name]…. I wouldn't know what to do if I lost you…." Rudo pulls you close again, "Don't, don't… ever leave me again… You're all I have left now [Name]…" He starts to possessively tighten his grip on you, who is still limp and dazed from the fall.
'Was Rudo ever this possessive over his friends in the manga?' Sighing mentally in your mind. This is so amazing for you, now Rudo's seeming to be a little too attached to you!
"I'll make them pay for what they did to us [Name]… Filthy bastards… " Rudo shoves his face into the crook of your neck, squeezing you tight. Despite Rudo's thin stature, he really is way more strong than you thought when you first saw him. But now you can barely breathe from how tightly he's squeezing you right now, although from the horrific smell assaulting your nose, you can't tell if you even want to breathe.
"Rudo… Can't... Breathe…" Tapping his arm with your free hand, though you can barely reach it from how Rudo is restricting your movements.
Rudo lets you go, you see his face stained with tears and snot dripping from his nose, and a sharp pain in your heart at his very clear grief right now. But you can't afford to grieve right now, you have to get Rudo and yourself out of this hellhole.
You hear a loud crashing noise behind you, and Rudo gasps from where he is and points over your shoulder,"[Name].. [Name]! What the hell is that!" Guessing from Rudo's horrified reaction to whatever is behind you and rising from the garbage, it's definitely a Trash Beast.
Rudo, clearly with more survival skills then you, grabs you and tosses you over his shoulder as you manage to actually see the 4 massive monsters with horns.
'Jesus fucking Christ they're huge." You cover your mouth as you see the monsters, with bony horned sheep like skulls and large metal poles on the back of it rapidly chasing you and Rudo. The closest of the beasts chasing after you two roars as it slams its long snake-like body onto the ground.
The snake pile of trash, which is surprisingly much faster then it's fellow four-legged trash heaps, dives towards you and Rudo. You scream at Rudo, "Rudo! It's-" he whips his head around to look at the loud crashing noise, managing to side dive out of the monster's jaws before it eats the two of you.
You and Rudo, who have practically crash landed to narrowly avoid being eaten, are teetering off the side of a… trash ledge? You see from the corner of your eye Rudo setting his hand down on something that makes him freeze in horror.
Rudo turns to you with a frightening dead look on his face "I'll never forgive them [Name]… How dare they-" as you both stand up to try and steady yourselves on the unstable ground, the bags of trash you're standing on fall off the ledge.
Now the two of you are falling together! Again!
'This has to be getting fucking old now'
Rudo manages to shield you from the brunt of the damage as the two of you tumble down. Unfortunately for both of you, the air has become increasingly harder to breath. You turn over from the ground and vomit blood, trying not to get any on Rudo, although you and your clothing are not so lucky. Rudo is still coughing from the fall and crawling closer to you, but ultimately throws up alongside you.
Rudo turns over to you, and his eyes widen in horror seeing the blood covering you.
'Ah… I hope I didn't screw up his awakening…"
You're lightheaded from vomiting, and you try and stand up to maybe try and find Enjin. You spot the Trash beasts that have clearly heard you and Rudo coughing and vomiting.
'He's… probably here… somewhere.. Right?' You hear Rudo shuffling to get up too, and you turn to look at him now picking up a metal pole.
Rudo's determined look on his face fills you with warmth as he turns to you, "[Name]… " He coughs, "I'm gonna beat those things. Stay here."
Rudo dashes forward to the approaching monsters, he smashes through one of them. The cloud of dust from the ensuing fight blocks your vision, and you cover your mouth in an attempt to not breathe it in. You faintly hear Rudo shouting at the beasts, and as you turn around to put space between you and the fight, you see a figure in the direction you want to head in rapidly approaching you.
Before you know it, the figure is right in front of you and fucking grabs you by the back of your head. They messily shove a gas mask onto your face before you can even protest.
The stranger, who is definitely Enjin by his mask, leans down to your ear to whisper, "Sorry, but be quiet for a second, 'kay?" Enjin then picks you up, roughly, and starts running with you over his shoulder to Rudo.
It's extremely disorienting to be picked up, then jostled around like you're a sack of potatoes. Needless to say for you, you're just about to puke and faint again while Enjin catches up to Rudo to shield him from the debris. You're currently looking down at Rudo, who is sprawled out onto the ground covered in dust and blood.
Enjin, the asshole he is, drops you straight onto the ground, and then grabs Rudo's hood and kicks his back, making him cough out a concerning amount of blood again.
"You… What's wrong with you-" Rudo coughs out as Enjin then seizes Rudo's face and shoves a gas mask onto him.
'What is with this guy and grabbing faces…' You push yourself up onto your knees, and watch as Rudo rushes over to you.
You're still dazed as Rudo lunges for you at breakneck speed and shields you from Enjin.
"You're… You're a human right? What in the world is this place, and what the hell was that monster!?" Rudo rambles to Enjin as you see him make a zipping motion over his mouth.
"Zip it up, alright?…"
'Oh shit, I should probably shut him up.' You grasp your hands over Rudo's mask in an attempt to make him quiet.
"Rudo! Be quiet! I think-" Whisper shouting into his ear, although Rudo clearly takes great offense to that as he yanks your hands off of him.
"[Name]! This guy is totally suspicious! You! Just tell us what the hell this place even is!"
"What part of 'Zip it' do you not understand here?.." Enjin makes a zipping motion again.
"Rudo!-" You whisper-interrupt, "We just woke up here after getting tossed into the pit! We don't know anything! Are we even above ground?"
"You've got eyes, don't 'cha? We need to stay quiet so shut up. You should listen to your friend here, " You can already tell Enjin is getting tired of Rudo's many questions, which you can't really blame him for.
'He was exactly like this when he found me…' You pull at Rudo in an attempt to get him to be quiet, "Rudo! Seriously! I think we-"
"Stop whispering you freak! I can't believe you're telling me to zip it after that huge monster attacked us!"
Ah, yeah.
That monster is definitely gonna hear you guys after what Enjin is about to yell.
"Shut the hell up! For the record, we are above ground idiot!" Rudo's eyes widen at Enjin's sudden yelling, and you sigh at what is about to come next.
"This place is one of the many toxic dumps you Spherites created, which is what I would've told you eventually, but you couldn't zip your damn lips and read the fucking room like your friend here!" Enjin points in the Trash beast's direction as it looks like it's vacuuming up trash to become even bigger, "Now we got ol' hungry hungry coming for us, that things a Trash Beast. They're monsters. made of trash. Trash beasts. How do we take one down? Well not with any ordinary weapon, and in case it wasn't obvious yet, they react to SOUND!"
You hear the Trash beasts stomping closer as Enjin rants with an extreme anger towards Rudo.
"That's why I was trying to keep my voice down, instead of barking my head off like a moron! I know the Trash beasts around here are exceptionally nasty, and I wasn't feeling like tangling with them today!" You see the horrific trash filled monster behind almost 30 feet behind Enjin as he points his umbrella at the two of you, "So thanks for that you mouthy ignorant little shit! You got me yelling and I'm not a loud guy!"
Enjin's umbrella he's currently pointing at you both starts to glow and sparkle with a yellow burst of energy. It bursts into a new form with black and yellow accents as he spins it and sighs with relief.
"Man, it felt good to yell all that out!" Enjin turns to face the monster behind him and drills through the Trash beast attacking, turning it to dust. However, a hoard of similar Trash beasts start to rush forward towards you three.
"Guess we drew a crowd…" Enjin exhales as he rushes forward.
Enjin then jumps up and slashes through at least… Four? Five? monsters at once, although you can't exactly see that well as the blasts from Enjin's attacks obscure your vision. You feel Rudo gripping onto you, and you feel a little bad, as you probably worried him when you got picked up by Enjin. He pulls you towards a rock to shield the two of you from the debris.
You peak around the corner as you see Enjin deal with the largest of the Trash beasts drilling through it in a flash of yellow light. The crater Enjin leaves behind is huge, and you see him walking towards the two of you.
Rudo gapes at him, "What the hell are you?.."
Enjin unscrews his mask, and you finally get to see his face for the first time with your own eyes.
'Holy fucking shit- This is actually kind of cool-'
"The name's Enjin," He pulls the rest of his gas mask off, "and I'm just a humble cleaner."
Enjin chokes and coughs.
He quickly puts his mask back on as he coughs on the air, "Haugh! Why'd you make me take my mask off asshole! This air is freakin' nasty!"
Rudo, who's grip on you has been slowly getting weaker, has now fainted onto you.
'Shit. I forgot about that part..'
"Ah! Rudo!" You try and support his head as he's unconscious, and Enjin walks up next to you to look down at the unconscious Rudo.
"So… That little brat is named Rudo… What a loudmouth…" Enjin rubs his chin, "Hmm… Now what to do with you two… I guess I'll just bring the two of you back with me since that brat might have potential…. Hey,Can you walk? I don't have to carry you again right?" You stare at him incredulously as he points at you.
"I'm gonna take that as a yes. Anyways, let's get your friend here tied up, because he seems the type to attck me. I don't have to tie you up right?"
You shake your head quickly.
"Good, now…. What's your name? I'm actually glad you listened to me when I said to zip it…"Enjin grumbles at the end of his sentence.
"Err… [Name]…?"
