It's Bug! Born Isabelle Hawkins, Bug died over 500 years ago from lung cancer! When her Sire tried to create an undead minion, the blood for the ritual accidentally turned her centuries-old corpse into a very frightened and quite horrified vampire! In the modern era, however, Bug is thriving!
Bug is a Lasombra vampire who might have eaten a few too many Protean vampires, granting her access to fleshcrafting! She commits diablerie after diablerie, yet somehow she keeps coming out on top, with minimal madness! She claims it's because of her sunny disposition, but it might have something to do with the parasitic insect burrowed in her skull...
Her two extra-large upper arms are stuffed full of bone blades, whereas her smaller lower arms are stuffed full of gardening tools! She has a trowel, some garden sheers, other stuff. The flower on her chest is something called a corpsebloom! A flower fleshcrafted into existence by Bug that feeds on blood! You gotta find hobbies when you can't use the internet, and she decided she wants to release a plague of blood-drinking plants into the world.
Also, if you're wondering what the purple stuff is, Bug is an alien species called a Valkai, and Valkai blood is purple, because that's my favorite color, and as GOD I can DO WHAT I WANT!!! This is the same explanation for why Bug's bones are bigger than her arm.
Thoughts on my art are below!
HELL YEAH!!! I'm really happy with how this came out!!! Though, gotta say, there are definitely things about the art that I don't like that I can't quite figure out... For one, the head seems like it's at a weird angle... but it could just be the hair..? I don't know!
I also spontaneously got better at drawing hands halfway through the drawing?? Like, I did the bottom arms first, then the top ones, and the top ones look so good while the bottom arm's hands kinda suck??
Ah well! What matters is that I'm quite happy with how this looks! I can't decide what to draw next, cuz I could draw more Moroza characters, but at the same time, I have a comic that I've been neglecting, and I wanna draw a D&D character... I'll prolly draw the D&D character..? We shall see!
Heck, I might even make a higher res version of this image!
I sent this art to my friend @moonlit-chaotic and they said "oml you drew her so damn pretty tho????" so I'm gunna assume I'm on to something with this design!
I'm working on making a model for each of my characters cuz I wanna futz around with more Clip Studio tools, so here! Danny's bod! With an outline of the model as a lil' test!
Alas, I doubt this is best practice for actually learning how to draw figures :/ Also, I feel like she's still got a more toned bodytype, and not the wrestler one I'm looking for...
I'm not sure I want to keep these colors, alas, because the setting of this comic is the North Pole during polar night! She might genuinely be hard to see...
But also she's got glow-y light magic, so it's honestly prolly fine hehe
I finally finished something GOOD!!! I finally made something I'm proud of!!! And it didn't take long!!! Really hope I can keep this motivation going...
So... I tried drawing a background! I think it looks alright! It's supposed to be the side of a building with a fence next to it. The goal here was to make something quick and easy to draw consistently... And this was definitely quick! It took me an hour, and I think it looks nice! I used Clip Studio's auto shading tool to add some nice gradients! Though, I still need to add some like... stains or cracks or something, as well as some snowfall!
School has been just really beating me down lately, I don't think I'll be able to do any serious drawing for a while... so apologies in advance for the weeks of bad, lazy art you're doomed to get!
