The little things they do

After over a month of no post here we go! This is somewhat similar to THIS post. Except this time it’s more romance focused, and like most of my post the gender of the reader is not mentioned!

Bakugo sleeps between you and the door because if anyone is dumb enough to break into your house they’ll have to get through him first.

Kirishima uses the hair dye that stains his hands to draw hearts on your arm or thigh as a silent declaration of love. If your hands are stained he always places it on his chest over his heart so he can always feel like he has you with him.

Denki kisses both of your cheeks and then your lips, just because he knows that it makes you smile. If your having a bad day he peppers kisses all over your face till you giggle or at least smile.

Sero named a plant after you when you two first started dating, and if the plant seemed to be in a bad condition he’d check in on you to see how you’re doing. The plant still has a spot on a shelf in the apartment and he talks to it when you’re not there.

Mina insist on one self care day a month and one dance party a week. So once a week the two of you turn on music and dance like nobody is watching, and once a month you sit with face masks on watching movies and painting nails.

Todoroki didn’t hold your hand for the first few months that the two of you were dating and linked pinkies instead. Partially cus he was convinced he was the “hand crusher” and mainly because you make him so nervous that he was scared he’d accidentally set off his quirk

Midoriya has a collection of notebooks dedicated to you. On the outside it might seem weird or obsessive, but these are a little different than his hero books. Instead of statistics and analysis on your quirk it’s all of your favorite things and places. He writes down all of the things about you he loves or finds interesting.

Iida traces hearts and the words “I love you” on your back in the early morning hours of the day. The time right when the sun is starting to rise and he thinks your asleep. Most of the time you are but some times you aren’t and you can hear him whisper love confessions to you.

Shoji hugs you without question if you ask for one. No hesitation, not even a quirk of his brow. He waits till you pull away before he lets go so he’s always holding you for as long as you want/need.

Small things like the way you jot down notes in class . That’s all it takes

You laugh at his jokes, playfully push his shoulder and hit him when he makes suggestive comments and you make him feel seen.

He wants to kiss you so bad. He wants to kiss you so bad that it hurts. It’s like every time he sees you all he can think about is kissing you and he can’t help but wonder how his lips would feel against yours. He is down so bad and all of his friends know it. So he’s getting teased relentlessly.  Especially because he can’t help but fumble over his words and over himself whenever you’re near him.  Someone please help him.

Being in love: Comfortable- Alessia Cara

He’s so comfortable with you it is almost scary to him. He never imagined himself to be someone who opens up so easily. It’s just that he loves you so much and he wants to spend the rest of his life with you so he can’t help but tell you everything. In return he learns everything about you. Synopsis: Sero Hanta fell in love with you slowly. He cant tell you when he fell for you but he can tell you when he realized it, amongst foliage and greenery. Eventually he works up the courage to tell you how he feels.

A/N: Almost to the end of the first weeks of fics! This is really exciting for me, cus this event is going to be full of first for me. I’ll talk more about that in  the event wrap up. But that you all for reading and I hope you enjoy! I also intentionally kept the ending vague. 

Sero Hanta is sure that in his 17 years of life he has never met anyone as effortlessly radiant and captivating as you. He can’t remember the exact moment that he fell for you. He Had  fallen in love with you gradually. It had come so natural to him that he didn’t even notice he was in love with you till it was too late and he was too far gone to deny his feelings. 

While he might not remember the exact moment he fell in love he does remember the very moment that he realized it. During the first few weeks after moving into the dorms Sero had made it clear to everyone that his room had an open door policy. If the door was unlocked you could just waltz right in. Some people used the open door policy as a way to escape from the loud atmosphere class 1A tended to have. Others used it when they were craving some sort of individual interaction. Whether that be coming to him to talk and vent or coming to sit in his room and read a book or do homework while both parties just occupied the space. 

It was one of the rare weekends when everything seemed slow. A much needed change of pace to the constant chaos that circled the hero course kids. He had been sitting looking over his hero costume design as the deadline for changes started to approach. He didn’t have any big changes for his costume in mind but it wouldn’t hurt to give his gear and stuff a once over to see where improvements could be made. That’s when you had entered his room and flopped down on his bed. Face staring up at the ceiling. This was in routine for the two of you. After getting used to the chaos of 1A uneventful days like this felt more boring than relaxing for you. So you’d be left to your own devices for a while but always found yourself in Sero’s room somehow. 

“Serooooooo” you called out in a bored tone turning your head to gaze at his lanky frame.

“Yes y/n?” He said as he continued looking at the sketches in front of him.

“Let’s go do something. It’s soo boring starting in the dorms all day.”

He spun around in his chair to face you. “Well what do you have in mind?”

“I don’t know, let's go to the mall or something. Oh! I know there’s this plant nursery on the main street with all the cafe’s and stuff. Let’s go there! I’ve been meaning to pick up some new plant babies.”

“Okay sure. What you thinking about getting?” He asked 

“I don't know. You're the dorms resident plant dad, that's why I wanted to bring you with me. You mentioned pothos or something like that but I guess it'll just depend on what the nursery has.”

That’s how he had ended up standing in the backroom greenhouse of a plant nursery. The sun just starting to dip down in the sky and paint the greenhouse room in shades of yellow and orange.  Sero couldn’t help but stare at you. The lighting of the soon setting sun left you looking absolutely ethereal and for a second he felt like he could look at you standing there amongst the greenery and foliage for eternity. He wasn’t being the most inconspicuous. So it didn’t really surprise him when you caught him staring, but you don't question him. You quirk your brow and then flash him a smile, and that is the moment he realizes that he loves you. Heat racing up the back of his neck to paint his cheeks red as he averts his gaze to anywhere else in the room. Leaving you to deliberate between two nearly identical pothos plants. Moving to the other side of the room to look at the succulents and mull over the sudden realization of his feeling for you. 

But now that left him with a bunch of options and he doesn't know what to do. He could sit with those feelings. Staying close to you as a friend, continuing to silently yearn for you. Waiting patiently for his feelings to fade away, but that could take weeks or months and be left with the lingering thoughts of what could have been. Watching you fall in love with someone else. He could do “the manly thing” as Kirishima would say, and tell you his feelings hoping that you’d maybe return his feelings. But, he’d be risking losing you as a friend and he wasn’t sure if he could do that. In such a short time you had somehow managed to cement yourself in his life.

It takes him almost a month of deliberation. But, when he finally makes up his mind he heads to your room. One hand enclosed around the handles of a bag filled with your favorite snacks, a heart full of love and a head filled with hope that you might just return his feelings.

Sakusa Kiyoomi prides himself on a lot of things. He prided himself on his looks and his abilities and the fact that he had become the MVP for the MSBY Black Jackals the first season he had joined them. Something most rookies could only dream of. But one of the biggest things that he had prided himself on was the fact that unlike Bokuto and Atsumu who washed their face with the same bar soap they showered with , he actually took care of his skin. His bathroom cabinet was filled with products that he had researched and implemented into his extensive skincare routine. There even sat a sleek white skincare fridge in one of the corners of the bathroom counter in his apartment. 

So when Sakusa had gone to your apartment and seen the abysmal products that made up your “skincare routine” he couldn’t help but scrutinize every product. This was not going to do. So the next time you had a day off after pointing out how bad your products were in his blunt way he dragged you out to go shopping. He had waited till later in the day in hopes that there would be less of a crowd and dragged you to his favorite skincare store.  You couldn’t help but laugh at the serious expression he held as he scrutinized the products on the shelf. You didn’t expect him to know as much about skin care as he did. Sure he had gorgeously flawless skin, but you had always assumed that it was just good genetics and the fact that he ate fairly decently. But, you honestly should have expected this. He was so diligent at staying clean and taking care of himself that it wasn’t unbelievable to assume he also took care of his skin. But the sheer amount of products he was putting into the basket was mind numbing. Did you really need all of that to have clear skin? You pulled out two bottles from the basket and looked at them incredulously.

“Kyoomi I don’t even know what a toner or serum is. Do I really need them?” You asked looking at him as he picked up yet another jar containing something. 

“Yes you do need them. The toner will balance the PH of your skin and the serum will promote anti-aging so you don’t get premature wrinkles.”

“Okay, but I’m definitely gonna forget to use this stuff just so you know”

“It’s fine. I’ll text you and remind you”

“Wait. Can you just facetime me? That way we can do the routines together. Plus, that way you can make sure I’m doing it right. Cuz if Imma be honest..” You said placing the products back into the basket. “I have absolutely zero idea how to use anything outside of like cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. 

“Fine we can do that if that means you’ll keep up the routine.” He said and you can hear the smile in his voice. 

He keeps his promise and facetimes you everyday an hour or two before bed. But even when the two of you are done you both stay on facetime till it’s time to go to sleep (although occasionally the two of you fall asleep on facetime together). Especially when Sakusa is in another prefecture for a training camp or a long series of away games. It’s this nightly act of doing your skincare routines together that allows for the two of you to feel close even when there are miles separating the two of you.

Dear (y/n),

I know that love letters are cliché and cheesy. But, sometimes I get so flustered just trying to say these things out loud to you that the words just get stuck in my throat. I still find it hard to believe that someone as beautiful, wonderful and amazing as you are somehow in love with someone like me. Shy, nerdy and  somewhat reckless me. You are so out of my league. The thought alone is enough to leave me dazed. 

You make me wanna be a better person. You make me want to be the best person I can be. When training gets too hard and I feel like giving up I just remember what I’m doing it for. I’m doing it so I can protect you and keep you safe. I’m doing it to make you proud because you cheering me on is the sweetest sound in the world to me.

If I’m being honest you caught my eye the very first time we met. There was something about you that just made you stand out amongst everyone else. You probably don’t remember. But it was at that hero gala a few years ago. Your hair was done in these long Senegalese twists (I think that’s what you call them. I’m still learning the names for all your different hairstyles). You wore that long black designer dress with a slit up the side. You looked absolutely ethereal, like some goddess that had decided to just bless us mortals with your presents. The way the lights reflected off of your dark skin just left me in awe. I was too scared to even talk to you that night. I’d already been a pro hero for two years at that point but suddenly I was no longer Pro-hero Deku. Instead I was back to being the same shy old Izuku Midoriya who couldn't even look girls in the eyes that I was in high school. 

I didn’t get around to actually talking to you and introducing myself to you till  a few months later when you joined the same hero agency I was at. I was such a bumbling mess. But you laughed at one of my stupid jokes and I knew from that very moment that I was in love. 

Anyways I’m rambling. But, I guess at this point you’re used to my rambling, or at least I hope you are. I wrote all of this to say that even after all of these years of loving you and being with you, I am still left speechless. I am so undoubtedly enamored and in love with you, and I can only hope to spend the rest of my life with you.

When you and Kyotani both realized that you’d be going to the same college in Sendai it seemed like a no brainer to just rent an apartment instead of having to pay for the student housing. Neither of you were the most social and the thought of having to live with complete strangers just seemed so awkward. So instead getting a 2 bedroom and splitting the rent just seemed better in all aspects. 

Being roommates wasn’t so bad. The two of you seemed to fall into a very easy routine.

 Kyotani always woke up before you to get in a morning workout in the apartment gym. By the time he’d return for a shower you’d have already woken up. Making your way into the kitchen to make breakfast and coffee for the two of you. You’d greet him with a yawn and a soft good morning. He’d greet you with a soft grunt and by rubbing his hand against the top of your head.

Saturdays had managed to become either impromptu movie nights or impromptu study nights with Tsukishima and Koganegawa. The dynamic between the three players of the Sendai Frogs was something that you would have been okay just observing from a distance. Staying in your room while Kyotani had his friends over. But, in his own words he had said “Don’t be a dumb ass. It’s your house to, I’m not gonna force you to stay in your room the whole time while these two idiots are over”. That didn’t really leave you with any room to argue. So slowly you had started to join the three volleyball players as they  spent time together. It was interesting seeing Kentaro making friends and you couldn’t help but occasionally smile as you watched them interact.

Kyotani didn’t seem to mind the occasional 3am baking that would occur in the kitchen on days when you were particularly stressed. If he didn’t have practice the next day, or you happened to be making one of his favorites he’d even stay up with you and keep you company. He’d sit up on one of the clean kitchen counters as you listened to music and furiously mixed together the ingredients in an attempt to take out your own frustrations. By the time you had placed your latest attempt at stress release into the oven your thoughts were organized enough to talk and hold conversations. Usually the two of you would talk while you washed up whatever dishes you had dirtied up. Although Kyotani often tended to come off as mean or standoffish he always seemed to know what you needed to hear, especially when it was the last thing you wanted to hear. After that the two of you would often just talk while eating whatever you had made. Kyotani most of the time opting to eat directly out of the dish. 

 Being roommates with Kyotani Kentaro wasn’t so bad. At least it wasn’t so bad until you realized that you might enjoy domestic life with your friend more than you’d like to admit.

You loved your job. You worked the closing shift by yourself at a little bakery and while being alone in the shop had been scary and intimidating at first it quickly became a break to the loud atmosphere the large college town you lived in usually had. Most people didn’t stop by the shop except for the occasional partner trying to cover for forgetting a birthday or anniversary. Which often meant you had time to read the pages of your textbook or go over notes from your classes. Which was exactly what you had been doing, the end of your pen tapping against your lip as you reviewed your hastily scribbled notes when the bell to the bakery gently jingled. 

You put your pen down and closed your book to greet the customer with your best customer service smile. “Welcome to the Buttercup Bakery! How may I help you.” You chimed looking at the man who had entered the shop. He was tall, and his thick eyebrows framed his face wonderfully. His black hair messy as he carded his fingers through it. He wore a black button up and a pair of matching black jeans. 

“Do you have anything with peanut butter?” He questioned as he looked at all of the cakes in the glass display case. 

“We have a triple peanut butter cake.” You said moving from the register to behind the glass display. 

“Perfect. She absolutely despises peanut butter” He said the smile on his face audible in his voice. You couldn’t help but quirk up your brow at his statement. That was...peculiar to say the least. But you just donned a pair of gloves and grabbed the cake.

“Can you write something on it for me?”

“Sure, no problem. What did you have in mind?” 

“Can you write “Fuck off” on it for me? Make it really pretty too while you're at it. Just over the top girly. Hearts and the whole nine yards.” He said a smirk replacing the lazy smile he had. 

“I..I guess  I can do that for you. Although if you don’t mind me asking. What exactly is the cake for?” You knew better than to ask questions like that. But, it wasn’t every day that someone comes in with as unusual of a request as the man in front of you. Plus, if you didn’t ask you knew that the question would eat away at you. 

“My girlfriend cheated on me last week and today's her birthday. So I’m getting a cake to break up with her.” He said with a sly look on his face. You couldn’t suppress the soft chuckle that passed your lips.  

“Say no more. Give me ten minutes and I promise I'll make it the prettiest cake you’ve ever seen.” You said moving the cake to the decorating station and getting to work. 

When the man looked at the cake packaged in the ribbon tied box it was obvious to him that you had indeed made good on your promise. You had added a chocolate glaze to the top of the cake and he was sure that in his 23 years of life he had never seen the words “fuck off” written as elegantly as you had put them on the cake. You also did not fail to add girly details. Icing hearts, chocolate covered strawberries and pretty whipped cream spiraled dolops also adorned the cake framing the words. He happily paid for the cake and left the bakery. Leaving you with an interesting story for your friends.

You didn’t expect for the same black haired stranger to show back up in your shop a week later. The same lazy smile adorning his handsome features. You couldn’t help your own smile as you welcomed him into the shop.

“Not here for another breakup cake are you?”

“Actually, no. Here for some cupcakes instead.” He said looking at the display.

You dawned your gloves and stood behind the display case. “Anything in particular you lookin’ for?”

“Nope. Why don’t you just give me 2 of your favorite flavors. You probably know better than me anyways.”

“Sure thing” You said, grabbing one of the containers designed to hold 2 cupcakes. You picked out a s'mores brownie cupcake and a purple ube cupcake. 

“No need to wrap them up. All pretty. I’m planning to share them with that pretty worker who created a breakup cake for me last week” He said with a smirk, and for a minute you had to process the fact that he was talking about you. You couldn’t help but smile.

So you and the man who’s name you learned was Matsukawa shared cupcakes. Talking about how his little breakup cake idea went over and getting to know each other.

Kyotani wakes up to a cold bed for the first time in a year and cannot help the scowl that comes easy to his face. Brows knitted together in the way that usually would have you jabbing your fingers in between them and you lecturing him on how he's going to get wrinkles. He lets a sigh pass his lips and heads to the kitchen. Grabbing his phone off of the nightstand and shoving it into the pocket of his sweatpants.

He’s met with a mix of sweet and savory smells and decides that his morning shower can wait a bit longer and makes his way to the kitchen. His features soften and a smile tugged at his lips. There you are his pretty little partner cooking breakfast, humming softly to music playing from your phone. He watches you move around the kitchen and swears for a second that he’s fallen in love with you all over again. He isn’t exactly sure what he’s done to deserve you, but he’s sure it was something amazing. After standing there for who knows how long you finally notice him. He can’t help the deep rumbling chuckle that passes his lips when he sees you jump at his presence. You smile at him and he can feel the soft flutter of butterflies in his stomach. Even after all this time together you still have this effect on him.

“Good morning handsome.” You say voice sweet as honey as you close the distance between the two of you. You wrap your arms around his neck and he mirrors the movement at your waist, pulling you against him till your bodies are pressed flushed together. “Happy birthday my love” your voice is just above a whisper and now it’s your turn to close the distance between the two of you. Pressing a soft, sweet and love filled kiss to his lips. “Go shower. Breakfast will be done when you’re ready.”
