To the Great Queen, a memory of heartache
She stands with head held high and speaks Peace to Sky Sky to Earth Earth below sky Words dripping like rain soaking the scorched earth From a voice filled with feathers and croaks Like whisky and cigarettes Her eyes always keen Alert A predator always watching for prey A warrior always watching for an enemy A queen surveying her lands In her I see three Of raven gaze And mother’s love And life’s end Hair like Blood/Ebony/Starlight In her I sense a Fury/Calmness/Sorrow So many in one/three That their voices sometimes overlap A discordant harmony of War/Life/Death Being twisted together like so many threads Woven into a tapestry She knows and will always know Even as the words fall from her lips The blood and fury it takes To garner peace The words fall like ruby drops from her lips “Have you a story?” Peace to sky Be it so lasting
