Nice little rare 84 year old gem of a ex Royal Mail van in today for a new stainless system. This one is a 1945 Morris Z series van. 885cc, 3 speed gearbox and 8bhp!! They made around 51,000 of these from 1940-1954 in van and pick up versions. Hydrailic drum brakes all round, cart spring suspension, 6volt electrics and with a generator not a alternator and of course with a cranking handle to start.!! Wooden floor on a pressed steel and riveted chassis. This one is being restored so it’s liek a post man Pat van and is going to visit shows as such.
