Sometimes there are days that they both have little to say. Whatever has been going on, it usually is something that’s at least visible on Heejun’s face. Whether it was a bad night at the club or he had issues understanding the court he was now a part of, it didn’t matter. Though, today it’s just a warm feeling in his chest of admiration for the woman in the kitchen with him. When did he get so lucky? It seems like they’re on the same wavelength and despite the lack of jazz playing in the air, he lets her pull him in to where they’re swaying to some unheard tune. “There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you, I hope you know that.” Heejun murmured. “I’m so in love with you.”

His home was eerily quiet, his own footsteps echoing up the sidewalk so loudly in his ears that Korain was already on guard. Speaking of, his (nor Venus’ own) were anywhere to be seen. That was sending alarm bells through him, leaving him absolutely stock still as he walked – no feigned breaths, no twitches or subtle movements to mimic humanity. No, he was all business – all vampire – as he crossed the threshold of his home.

He didn’t even bother to take off his shoes at the door.

Movements were slow but precise, and the first body he stepped over was a young vampire that Korain had turned only weeks before. Such a waste of precious life, but it did clue him in onto who (or what) had paid him a visit. Six more bodies followed, and he could feel the tension ratcheting up with each step closer to the bedroom he got.

Only when Korain was absolutely sure that the house was empty (a threat levied against him, a warning, yes, but not an ambush – no one was waiting in a dark corner to jump him), did he call out to her. “Venus?”  All too worried that she wouldn’t respond…
