It was so easy to feel like he wasn’t going anywhere, and it wasn’t just because he had been wandering around this empty beach for the past hour. The movement was merely a stimulation, a distraction, much like the rubik’s cube in his hand. Anything to settle his busy thoughts.
Truth of the matter was, he had been feeling empty, bored, restless. Victoria was still very much on his mind no matter how he tried to push her out. The memory of her untimely death was all too much to bear, and he often dealt with it by not dealing with it. If he kept himself busy, he wouldn’t have to confront all those feelings, or lack there of. The numbness was becoming quite common as of late.
Might as well dull the pain instead of experiencing it because if he allowed himself for one minute, he may never cease the tears that would follow.
