Once the two groups finally met up, Wardaddy and Corporal Ford needed to speak. As they talked the hatch to the Fury tank opened for a third time, most of the men out of it to stretch their legs, but clearly not all of them. Corporal Ford glanced at the tank as the individual began climbing out, only to freeze and stare in confusion. "There's a woman in your tank." Ford pointed out, to which Wardaddy turned and looked to (Y/n) who was laughing at something Grady had said. "Yes I do." Wardaddy agreed. "Why?" Ford asked, assuming she was just someone they had picked up to fool around with. "She was assigned to my team." Wardaddy stated. "She's a soldier?" Ford's frown deepened. "A pilot actually." Wardaddy smiled. "Her plane was shot down, she ejected but was caught later. She was a POW for two months right here I'm this little town." Wardaddy added. "That's why we're here, I refuse to let her leave my team, and she has important intel about this place that you'll need in order to succeed." He continued before turning to look at (Y/n). "Darlin' come here a minute." Wardaddy called her over, placing his arm around her shoulders when she was close enough. "(Y/n) here is one hell of a fighter, and she's gonna be the reason you survive this mission." Wardaddy mused making Ford even more confused. "I promise I'm more than just a pretty face." (Y/n) spoke up, her voice a welcomed sound to Ford's ears. "You better be right about that." He grunted with false annoyance, his words making (Y/n) grin.

Super Soldiers AU (a Marvel/Overlord (2018) crossover)

When Morton Chase took two bullets to the chest and then woke up from death, he thought it must be some kind of after life. That was the only explanation as to why he’d woken up at all, especially after his wounds healed and he was able to stop his pounding headache. Then, the war was saved and he was being asked a lot of questions by people who certainly weren’t his military superiors.

They had government identification, and nicer suits than he’d ever seen in his life, and they weren’t rude, just curious, so there was no harm in giving them a few answers, even if he didn’t know most of them. Then, they asked for his help recovering as much evidence from the rubble as they could, and he couldn’t just say no. 

The moment he realized why they needed his help was when they found the body of one Corporal Lewis Ford, still barely clinging to life.

The serum that flowed within both of them had kept life in their veins, too, and it didn’t take long for the people asking questions to get a few answers. If either of them died, the tar would simply bring them back. It wasn’t a pleasant experience, the coming back, and it always gave them the same pounding headache, but it was useful - for the people who had taken them into their fold.

It took over a year for Chase to get a few answers of his own. The agents who had been asking so many questions and running so many tests called themselves the SSR, and as time passed, that name changed to SHIELD. The soldiers who couldn’t die had to change, too, when the tar kept them young and in the same shape they’d been in during that first mission in France.

Morton Chase became Leopold Fitz, a scientist who could be monitored and kept under SHIELD’s thumb in case anything happened.

Lewis Ford became John Walker, still a soldier, still helping the government defend the country against things that regular citizens couldn’t know about.

And, when the original shield came back into government hands, when the people were starting to worry and panic, when they needed a symbol to look up to... well, it only made sense to replace one super soldier with another.

“You know, when this started, I was just the guy with the camera. Are you sure this is a good idea?” “The last time I checked, Chase, they weren’t asking you to be Captain America.”

I dont expect this page to get popular but, that won't stop me from writing about my best boys.
