Seeing Summer's reaction to Rick hugging her was so interesting to me. The obvious answer as to why she seemed so surprised and didn't hug him back (her arms didn't even move) is because it's Rick, but seeing that made me wonder if we ever actually saw one of the parental figures in the Smith family actually hug Summer.
And I made a pretty quick snap judgement of no, no one did, and it just made me annoyed at Beth for spending all that time whining about her father not loving her when she can't be bothered to do the bare minimum like hugging her children, but since I don't actually know if that's the case, I decided to just let go of that probably projected anger.
Also btw I literally just got the Joke with Summer. She's a homicidal maniac because she's a teenage girl; being a teenage girl is kind of like being in semi-permanent limbo where nothing truly matters. Do you know what I mean?
