Moses Thompson is the School Garden Program Coordinator with Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) and the Coordinator for UA Community Garden program, University of Arizona School of Geography and Development.
As the coordinator between the Tucson Unified School District and the University of Arizona Community and School Garden Program, Moses Thompson helps teachers start school gardens to promote both healthy eating and learning. In 2006, he cofounded the Manzo Ecology Program and in 2012 the US Green Building Council recognized Manzo Ecology with a national Green Schools Award. Mr. Thompson’s work has been featured in the British Journal of Medicine, National Geographic, School Counselor Magazine, Arizona Illustrated and Edible Baja Arizona. In 2011, he was awarded Arizona School Counselor of the Year and in 2014 he was recognized by the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as a distinguished community leader.
