i’ve been reading all (most?!) of your story told different ways universe fics..... and i honestly don’t know how you do it!! each fic is so amazing and thought out and i love catching the little hints for the other stories. i am in awe of how you have time to write everything and share it all and just.... yes. thank you for writing such a unique universe (really aus within an au!!)

so... mermaid au... what a gem! thank you for sharing!! can you tell us some more about minkey raising taem?? you said that minkey was "sort of a couple" and then that they were totally a couple... so how did their relationship happen? was getting a kid a big deal?!

Has Minho been in Taemin’s life since Key was given him as s baby. I know Taemin sees him as a dad but how is he in the family? 

Minho and Kibum were best friends since they were both little ones. They actually sort of hated each other at first, mostly because Minho always boasted about his shark-tooth amulet while Kibum only had an amulet made out of coral and a pearl. 

Eventually, they started to bond with each other once they became teenagers. Everyone kind of knew that Minho and Kibum would end up with each other. 

Then when they were nineteen, Kibum was chosen to be the caretaker of of a baby. It’s not unusual, because caretakers can be as young as eighteen, but it was just very sudden. Usually people get a little bit of notice before they’re chosen, but Taemin’s parents chose Kibum very suddenly. Not without reason, though; Kibum’s mother had actually been the caretaker of Taemin’s father before she had Kibum. 

But one day, Kibum sort of just met Minho at their part of the reef with a three-month-old in his arms, and all Minho can really do is let a few bubbles leave his mouth before he and Kibum surface with the baby. 

“He’s my new charge,” Kibum tells Minho once they surface.

“I gathered,” Minho says. “What’s his name?”

“Taemin,” Kibum whispers.

The baby starts whining, and Minho reaches over to take the baby into his arms. Minho rocks the two of them in the water, letting the waves roll over Taemin’s little shoulders. The waves calm the baby down, and Kibum looks to Minho like he’s sprouted a second tail out of his head.

“I don’t know what I’m doing,” Kibum admits, “and his parents already left to go back with the other warriors.”

“Does anyone ever know what they’re doing?” Minho asks.

Kibum lets out a breathless laugh, and he wades over to Minho and lets the taller merman wrap an arm around him. Kibum leans his head against Minho’s chest and looks at Taemin’s little face, running a thumb over his chubby little cheeks. The baby moves his head towards Kibum’s hand, his eyes opening to look at him. The smile that spreads across the baby’s face makes Kibum’s heart beat faster.

“We’ll be okay, right?” Kibum whispers.

“We’ll be okay,” Minho assures him.

There was a time that I played piano at a beginner-intermediate lever but I’ve lost at all now. What I always hoped to play and never had the opportunity to because of the cost of lessons was violin! I love love the sound of the instrument and I love that it can be played classically or as a folk fiddle. So yeah many hearts for the violin!

cappuccino crunch: do you take naps?

Heck yes! With my illness I would never survive if I didn’t. The fatigue associated with my RA has gotten really bad the last couple of years so most days it forces me to nap- even for 20-30 minutes to try and reboot my body to be able to get through the rest of the day. I love naps! <3
