I've been in a lot of mosh pits and while I've had a couple of hairy moments when big dudes in the back shove the masses forward and my chest felt tight, I've never fallen nor felt my life was threatened. I've always been able to get out of the pit or last the show.
Comments like this scare me. I think it's true. And I think it's going to be hard coming back after COVID because we'll have new legions of fans wanting to be exuberant but who haven't moshed in a while and many of our long-standing and experienced security people have moved to other industries.
We cannot lose our mosh etiquette which is based on consent and empathy.
