I am loving these epic of gilgamesh art pieces you're posting. can you tell us more about the project? :D
Ah, I'm so glad you like them! And of course, I love sharing about my projects :)
So basically, I'm developing an adaptation of the Epic of Gilgamesh. It's going to roughly follow the original plot up till the confrontation with Humbaba at the Cedar Forest (with plenty of creative liberties of course) and from there things go pretty off the rails. I've fully plotted the entire story and split it into arcs, so it's all figured out plot wise!
As for what I actually produce, right now I'm just making a visual development collection for the story; it'll include character designs for Gil, Kidu, and Eres (Ereshkigal in the original story, Queen of the Dead. She plays a much larger role in my story), 3 world exploration illustrations, 3 prop designs for important items, and of course the rough plot for the adaptation, as well as in-depth character explorations for Gil, Kidu, and Eres.
While that's all as far as my plans for the immediate future, I have fallen in love with this story and these boys, and I absolutely plan to actually produce the story at some point in the future, either as an animated series (a far off goal/dream), or as a webcomic, or both.
Thanks so much for asking! I love talking about my projects, and if you, or anyone, ever has questions about this story, from "does Kidu still die in this story and what is the emotional impact on Gil" to "would a modern au Gil wear Gucci (yes)", never hesitate to ask!
