Edit Your Old Posts

If you are anything like me then you have probably transferred your blog from a differ website or blog provider. Some of your older posts might need a little TLC. Periodically, I check out older blog posts to see if I missed any grammatical errors. Another thing is to make sure that any hyperlinks are still working properly.
Switch Up or Update Your Theme
Is your current blog theme feeling a little dated or boring? This is the perfect time to switch up your theme. Depending on your provider there are free or premium themes available. You can also hire a web designer if that fits your budget.
Check Your Security

Unfortunately, as careful as we try to be there are still hackers out there. Don’t fret, there are still ways to secure your website & blog. Previously in the series, we briefly touched on the ways to protect your brand. Another way to make sure your website is secure by checking your SSL certificate (Secure Sockets Layer). You can either make sure it is updated on your web provider or purchase it yourself (self-hosted). It is pretty affordable. Lastly, you can install spam blockers (free or premium version) as well.
Back-Up Your Blog or Website

The last tip is all about backing up your website or blog. Backing up your blog or website is very important. Not only does it make the process of transferring your website easier, but it just serves as protection just in case. Websites can be unpredictable at times and it never hurts to be prepared.
These are just a few ways you can make sure your website or blog is the best version possible.
Does your website or blog need some TLC? Did you find these tips helpful? Let us know in the comments below. Stay tuned for the next topic in the Blogger Life Series IV. Part II of Blogger Life Series IV debuts in 2021.

We have arrived at yet another Oscars season. On Sunday night the 92nd Academy Awards took place at Dolby Theatre & aired on ABC. The similarity to last year the ceremony went without a host. Of course, there were several references to consistent nominations & minorities throughout the evening. While we hope one day that changes, we will focus on the positive part of the ceremony. The one thing we do look forward to is the red-carpet fashion. Check out some of the looks from last night below.

I am going be real networking is still very intimidating for me. You can’t always determine people’s reactions and etc. However, it is a necessary part of any business especially the blogging business. Don’t fret I am going to sharing a few techniques that I personally use.
Hand Out Business Cards
While most of us are online these days I still carry my business cards no matter what event I attend. My personal rule for passing them out is to see if the intended person will be receptive first. If they are then I will proceed. Also, business cards don’t have to be expensive or overly fancy especially if you are still starting out. You can easily find a template online or check out companies like Vistaprint.
Connect with Fellow Bloggers
In Part 2 of the series, I touched on the benefits of building a blogging tribe. In addition to my blogging tribe, I recently connected with a group of fellow local bloggers. What is great about connecting with other bloggers is that you get the chance to meet new people, seek support and potentially collaborate. Another great way to find bloggers is through online groups. You can also find great ones on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
Mingle at Events
When there is an intermission at a fashion show I usually take time to mingle. I usually chat with fellow bloggers, guests, or the host. Sometimes I even briefly chat with the host after the event just to tell them thanks for inviting me. Like business cards you never what can come from it.
Be Courteous and Be Myself
The last thing might sound a little cliché, but it still rings true. I always try to be myself and be courteous when attending events. The last thing I want to is to be known for having a bad attitude or etc. Honestly, it isn’t hard to be nice to people. Also, I try to be myself as well, because people can pick it up on it.
These are some of the networking tips that I found have worked for me. Stay tuned for the next topic in the Blogger Life Series III. What are some of your go-to networking techniques? What topic would you like to see on My Own Sense of Fashion? Let us know in the comments.
