Season 3 of Masters of the Universe (Core/CGI) comes out on Netflix August 18th
Mosquitara Theory
Season two of He Man and the Masters of the Universe will be released on Netflix tomorrow and I’m excited! I wanted to share a theory I’ve had since I saw the season two trailer involving a new villain called Mosquitara who is a female version of Mosquitor of the Evil Horde.
I immediately noticed how they didn’t show much of her in the trailer, mostly focusing on the mechanical mosquito proboscis on her helmet than what she looks like. There’s going to be a toy of her but we haven’t seen a photo of it yet not even a leak on Instagram. Recently a photo of full body shot of Mosquitara was uploaded on Reddit but her head is bent down so you cannot see her face. I think they are deliberately trying to hide her face because she’s someone who will betray the Masters of the Universe and it will be a huge shocking plot point this season.
And I think that person is Krass aka Ram Ma’am. In a recent sneak peek clip of a fight scene from one episode skeletor is shown asking Krass if she knows where the crystal in her helmet came from.
Krass’s Ram Ma’am helmet is a powered up version of her fathers pilot helmet that helped her survive the crash the took the lives of both of her parents.
This makes me think Skeletor knows something about the crystal imbedded in the helmet that we don’t know yet and is going to use it to his advantage to defeat the masters.
He’s probably going trick Krass into switching sides by telling her he can bring her parents back or just corrupting her with his havoc so she blindly obeys him.
I think further proof to my theory is in the Reddit picture, the helmet kind of has a similar shape to her Ram Ma’am Helmet, dominate color of her outfit is red, her skin looks a little purple like Krass’s, and there’s stripes on her legs which maybe a reference to the tiger tribe which Krass and Adam are a part of.
I could be completely wrong about this and it could just be brand new character we have yet to meet. I guess we will have to find out tomorrow.
Yeah just want to say I'm sorry about putting Eldress in the same category as Horde Prime to explain her behavior in the show. That was too far and a unlikely theory when thinking more about it. For that I apologize.
They're all fictional characters, no one was actually hurt. You have nothing to apologize for.
I just want to be clear that there are levels of bad and not every character that has done a bad thing is gonna be "all bad". The CGI Masters of the Universe has been very good about showing levels of bad.
Krass started out as a hero, but was too focussed on her own priorities of remaining loyal to the Tiger Tribe and keeping Adam with her, that it drove her to becoming a villain. Krass is now a bad guy, but she's not "all bad".
Mosquitara and Webstor were both traditionally always villains in previous MotU series, and when each one was first introduced they were antagonists. But they redeemed themselves and became anti-heroes (or even good guys!) when they joined forces with Stratos and helped to save Avion from Skeletor.
I feel its important to show both that heroes can make mistakes, be selfish, and do bad things, but still be heroes. Likewise, its important to show that villains are still people with their own wants and desires and are capable of redemption.
Whatever Eldress has done in her backstory, it cannot be anything that's beyond redemption.
I think it'd be interesting if 2021/CGI Marlena was still alive and just left Randor for one reason or another. Though I'm not quite sure where she'd be on Eternia, unless they made her into an outright heartless villain, you'd think hearing that Adam was back would have made her show up... maybe she's on Etheria looking for Adora, lmao.
There was a fan theory floating around for a while that Marlena was Mosquitara. That after Adam was kidnapped, she left on a quest to get enough magical power to get her son back. But at some point along the way she lost sight of her goal and it became about just getting more and more power for power's sake.
It was an interesting fan theory and I honestly did like it for the drama, but I don't personally subscribe to it.
My personal headcanon until proven otherwise, is that after Adam was kidnaped, Marlena and Randor experienced extreme marital problems. Marlena was grieving her lost child and maybe some advisor from the court, or even Randor himself, was pressuring her to have another child so the monarchy would still have an heir. Marlena couldn't process her loss in such a high-pressure and toxic environment, so she gets back in her Rainbow Rocket and flies back to Earth. Marlena is still on Earth at the time the Core/CGI series takes place.
That's why Randor only ever says he "lost" her, not that she's dead.
CGI MotU Season 2 Trailer dropped today!
This post contains spoilers!
So how long do you wager it will take for Mosquit-Ra to realize Stratos is probably not gonna make good on his promise about the green and gold energy stuff
Stratos: I don’t see what I did wrong
Adam: you promised something you didn’t have to a dangerous energy vampire
Stratos: with confidence
Honestly it’s gonna depend on how long Krass stays a bad guy. She’s the one with the green and gold power combo. Everyone else has gold, or green, or purple.
I’m more interested to see is Mosquitara becomes obsessed with Krass since she’s the object of Mosquitara’s gluttony.
Mosquitor is One of my favorite Characters from the Masters of the Universe Franchise and since Mosquitor appear in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2021). I hope Hordak and his Evil Horde appear in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2021) someday!
Mosquitara does not appear to be associated with the Horde in the new CGI MotU series.
However, that doesn't mean the Horde won't appear. I wasn't expecting King Hiss to appear and it looks like Hiss is gonna be one of the main villains for season 3 (in addition to whatever the fuck is going on with Krass).
Maybe we will get the Horde!
If the series goes that long.
I just binged the entire second season of He Man and the Masters of the Universe and all I can say is wow, how will they get out of that situation set up at the end.
Also Mosquitara isn’t Krass, Mosquitara is just Mosquitara a brand new character and her helmet just covers most of her face. But without getting into spoilers turns out I had a reason to be suspicious of the origins of Krass’s helmet gem.
