Am envisioning that Mosslight prefers to be an age barely out of apprenticeship — like around how old Fireheart was at the end of TPB Book 1 — and is as earnest and genuinely pure-hearted as, say, Carrot Ironfoundersson from the Discworld novels. So archtypically pure of heart that it can make other cats uncomfortable, and no one can really tell if or to what extent it's an act.
Heroes from out of a fairytale are oftentimes simple, but simple does not mean stupid. Sometimes, it takes great wisdom and even greater conviction to be simple.
Yeah, that fits my idea of Mosslight. They're an adult, but not totally out of the soft kitten fur that lines their face. Still a bit lanky, with tightly-coiled muscles that contain more strength than you can imagine.
There's also something kinda weird about their paws. They're dark blue and starry, could be frostbite, could be the cold touch of space. In any case, just by looking at Mosslight you can tell that they're more spirit than they are mortal.
