The Plant-type option for your first Mon is Mosster! These little fellas are easy to raise; just let 'em photosynthesize, lay off the weedkiller, and stay patient. It's a sturdy and reliable pile of dirt and plant matter, and though it takes twice as long to take down a foe as your other options, it's tanky enough that using it is basically a guaranteed win for every major fight in the first third of your journey.
