List of unusual deaths

1982: David Grundman was killed near Lake Pleasant, Arizona, U.S., while shooting at cacti with his shotgun. After he fired several shots at a 26 ft (8 m) tall Saguaro Cactus from extremely close range, a 4 ft (1.2 m) limb of the cactus detached and fell on him, crushing him.
1999: Kemistry, an influential drum and bass DJ, died after a cat's eye flew through the windshield of a car in which she was a passenger and struck her in the head. A van directly in front of the car had dislodged the cat's eye.

Up on the roof
26 May 2016 Yesterday started out as a normal Wednesday, I got up, exercised, showered up, got my breakfast together and went to work. On the way to work, I started my normal routine of emails in the car, then continued that at my desk at work in the office. At around 8:00am, my Environment Health and Safety manager came into my office and told me we have a guy that has climbed up on the roof and threatened to kill himself. Not the way I imagined to start the day! After some investigation, it turns out that this guy and done this before at the plant! He was a sub sub sub (5 levels) contractor who did not get paid for his part of the construction work in the plant and in fact he had done this back in 2014 already when my predecessor was here. A deal was cut at that time to split the money owed to him between the primary contractor and Michelin, But the money was given to the police bureau and not directly to him. The guy came down, did not jump and went to the police bureau and likely spent some time in jail. The police bureau was to give the money to him. We didn't hear any more from this situation.,..until the 25th of May 2016. He jumped the plant security fence (that's another problem I'll have to solve!) and climbed the same ladder and threatened to jump unless he got the money owed to him. This was yesterday at 8:00...we called the police and told them to get him off of our property. Then we found out that the police kept some (over 1/2!) of the money we put up back in 2014, so the guy wanted the rest of the money! He never really ever wanted to die...he just wanted the money. Why he waited this long, who knows! Why did he choose this day? Who knows? Anyway, the police bureau said they would get him the money and pay him in cash...he refused...he wanted it credited to his bank card...then the police backed off...they didn't agree. (I think they didn't have this money...I think they couldn't come up with this money and were stalling for time!). So, the guy stayed...and stayed...and police bureau people kept going to higher and higher levels. Finally at 11:00pm last night, we took the guy some food and water (because we didn't want him to die from other causes on our site!) The police bureau said that they did not agree to pay him the money, they would agree to pay it back to Michelin and we would have to pay him. He slept on the roof! Early this morning, they guy was still refusing to move. We agreed for the money go be paid from the police bureau to one of our employees accounts and they he would transfer it to his daughter's account and when he saw it arrive in her account, the would come down. The police had a briefcase full of cash, they showed it to him and he still refused. The police bureau then went to the bank, transferred the money to the account and we then immediately transferred it to his daughters account. At around 1:00 pm today, he finally came down and the police took him off the site in the police car and sent him to jail. No big fuss...no big communication...just leave well enough alone..he's gone and his signature is in blood (literally) that he will not come back...now will others? Maybe! I hope note as there is no money provisioned for his! All in a day's work as a plant manager...you just can't make this stuff up! And life goes on!
