just found out one of my classmates from college moved to denmark

I’ve always thought it was both strange and funny that parents call children “an extension of themselves”. first, the human ego remains indomitable lol but second, we are all so desperate for a second chance or some form of redemption that we think we can make our children into something better than what we were; the whole time not realizing that the point is to help them be themselves instead of our replacements. I think you can see how much an adult really loves themselves by what they punish their children for. A parent’s bountiful self-love allows for the children to blossom in every growing stage. Bc the children do not represent a threat to the parent’s ego. Whereas lower self-love seems to cripple children’s emotional well being, turning them into adults who have to recover from their childhoods. Idk, just something I’m thinking about in the bath lol

there are a bunch of web designers and developers where i work and it’s so funny when someone shouts ‘’duuuudes come look at this logo i made’’ and then everybody run to look like ‘’WHOAAA AMAZING’’ it’s pure happiness
