They've definitely tried! After the first handful of times, Reader forbid them from leaving the pizzeria unless specifically told to- the boys bargained them into agreeing that they'll be allowed to leave if Reader is in any danger. By 'in danger,' they meant 'if you're 0.01 seconds late to work'.

Have they used some kind of weird, backwards excuse to rationalize to themselves that it would be okay to maybeeee follow Reader home and perhaaaaaps watch them sleep through their window but leave before they wake up so they don't know they had some cute little jester fellas being their guardian angels and counting the seconds between each breath they take? I can neither confirm nor deny.
