who gives the other advice/comfort about dating issues - Damon gives Alaric advice and/or comfort, but Alaric kind of wants to cover his ears when he does it because it’s so embarrassing.

The bar was getting busier, and Enzo had things to do, so Alaric took his drink to the other end of the bar, and watched for Sam. Movie had to have finished, and everyone was coming to the Fiddle for a drink. Probably to argue about the ending; one of Alaric’s favorite pastimes as well, though it had been a while since he’d done it.
Maybe he’d see that film later in the week.
Eventually, he caught sight of Sam, with Lucifer, and the little owl-girl. He had to get this over and done with. Wasn’t going to interfere with a nice family afternoon, but he had to talk to him while he still had a bit of steam up.
He raised a hand in an awkward greeting, stepping away with a flick of his head that was intended to make it clear he needed to talk, but might well have looked more like he had a bug in his hair.
Okay, he was drunk (not something that could be said about Elijah Mikaelson too often) --- but with good reason. He called it letting off pent off steam after finally being reunited with his family. He deserved a little fun (even if it came with a headache the following morning). “Another,” he instructed. “Please keep it filled.”
