another pokemon sketch from class, this time Motham. Pokemon arceus has given me a real appreciation of the Burmy line.

Am I mistaken or did Wilbur have concerns regarding the fact that the deathlings might kill him if they find out he's useless as the Pythia?

His primary fear during the outburst in ch11 was failing Clara by revealing the sacred word shared between emperor and vessel, but logically now the deathlings [in his eyes] don't have any reason to keep him alive, since the Pythia succession wouldn't help the government due to Schlatt not even listening to Clara's word. I feel like it would play even more into his fear/anticipation of the deathlings 'finally' hurting him.

yeah you're right he does fear that, but he's also getting to a place where he's realizing that tommy is going to fight tooth and nail to keep anyone from hurting him. because even before the pythia line of succession was brought up, tommy was protecting him from everyone else. and niki and jack didn't want to kill him because they don't want to be cruel. so yes that's probably going to come up again now that he's revealed he's 'useless', but that's also part of the reason I waited until his relationships had developed to this point before having him break and say that. it's gonna be a mix of emotions :)
