Hello! I love your fic rec lists so much because I can mark them all as 'to read later' with the upmost confidence. There is something delightful about knowing that I have a bunch of excellent fics waiting for me throughout the week, all pre-selected and vetted. And I especially appreciate the Fic Rec Fridays and the Author Spotlights because I've read a lot of the older popular fics, but I'm not as familiar with new work or writers.

I was like maybe I should change the jeep. Nah. Sticking with the classics!! Lol. I was just thinking about author spotlights! Which I haven't done in forever! They seem to always end up at the bottom of the list, but they're such a great way to showcase those hidden fics that a lot of sterek fans haven't read!

Just put Sterek Cheerleader on my tombstone. 😂

I have not been able to stop thinking about the writing breakthrough you mentioned in a comment on Closer. I was struggling recently with trying to separate two characters in a fic, and I specifically had your words go through my head: Why am I trying to keep them apart? In Closer, you were still able to maintain that tension and continue building and layering Edward's personality and quirks, not by keeping him separate, but by giving him something he wanted so badly.

Honestly, I think about that breakthrough every single time I write. (Thank you, @longstoryshortikilledhim.)

And, yeah. Sometimes there’s reasons to keep them apart! But sometimes, there really, really isn’t, and there’s other ways to push those character arcs.

I super love your writing and am a huge fan! For the character first impression ask: Hux

Hey! Good to see you and thank you for the kind words <3 <3 It’s been a hot minute since I’ve thought about Hux, so here we go:

First impression: What an asshole.

Impression now: Ah, yes. The asshole. 

Favorite moment: Careful, Ren. Obviously. 

Idea for a story: Something that explored his relationship with his father in greater depth (and tying it into the Edala storyline, because I’m self indulgent like that)

Unpopular opinion: I’ve never wanted kylux to be canon nor did I ever want Hux to have any redemptive moments or qualities in any of the official media. I’m fine with him being a stock villain.  

Favorite relationship: I’m partial to Mikylux. 

Favorite headcanon: He’s into idiots and furiously wishes that he wasn’t.

OMG! Your Hux plushie is adorable! I have to ask if you were inspired by the old Warner Bros cartoons for his expression? I only know this cause I am a huge nerd and have a thing for old animators, but his expression looks a little like a Ken Harris' animation. It made me squee SO HARD. I wanna squeeze 'im!

AW Ken Harris’ stuff is AMAZING, I recognize his work but never knew the name!  I like thinking of the old animation style for chibis in general, since its so good at bringing movement to exaggerated characters, but I wasn’t really thinking in anything in particular when I made him. I just thought that I didnt want to fig out what color his eyes where and getting that down in fabric somehow. That meant simplifying his face in the extreme so anyone who looked at him would simply not think about real-life comparisons, which also informed the shape of the hair!

Hmmmm.... theoretically for @mothdustmouth's original fiction that she's working on but... I'm not totally happy with the result. The guy on the left looks a bit younger than I had intended >_> but keep an eye out for her thing, I got a preview of the first bit and it's really good

You're gonna write Ward fan fic too???? High five! I've got one started about Ward and Kyle (Harold's smol assistant) If you ever feel like talking about Ward and/or writing, please come yell at me! This fandom is gonna need love. Lot's and lot's of love.

I SURE AM! Or I’m attempting to lol between the anxiety and depression and working and all these projects, I’m afraid it’ll be slow-going. BUT I am super determined to write these Ward fics. Already got some requests, and I’ll be posting them over at @trashmanwardmeachum when they’re finished!

I will definitely come do that! I think I saw you mentioning writing a Ward/Kyle fic? That sounds amazing. Poor smol Kyle.

The Ward fandom is tiny but determined. Love it.

WOW. Your works count, I had no idea! I loved "Sell Your Body to the Night" but somehow never noticed how epic your story count was even though I know I went and looked for more stories by you cause I LOVE your writing. Huh. Well, color me IMPRESSED and BEHIND ON READING your fic.

Aw, thanks! I have been writing fic--steadily and to the exclusion of, uh, a lot of other life activities--since 2002, so it does add up after a while. 

I have 445 works on AO3 at the moment, totalling 2.9 million words--and while I tend to be known for writing long stuff, more than half my story count (232 stories) comes from works of 2,000 words or less. 

(I am a nerd and track this stuff in a spreadsheet. I have a bar chart/histogram type thing for the distribution of story lengths.)
