The beast of a man became abnormally still as his gaze fell upon the woman. He hadn’t known their mother -- hadn’t even known they had one ( aside from the whole birds and the bees nonsense ) -- and yet, something churned in his stomach. Unease was clear in his features, a deep discomfort as he briefly considered the past. He had slaughtered her husband, years ago, shortly after his ‘ birth ‘. Surely, if she could tell that it was him, and not the true son she had given birth to, she would be angry with him, if she knew. Did she know?
