re: Homestuck resurgence: (open invitation to converse in replies/reblogs)

I say this with some reluctance but genuinely I wonder if anyone else understands my feelings re: the resurgence ?

im not actually very happy about the Homestuck resurgence, I was very comfortable with treating it like a dead property, and enjoyed that it was full and complete in ways that mattered to me and there was like, a stationary understanding to me. knowing that the stuff in Homestuck that I like and care about might be dug up and spun or changed or twisted somehow makes me feel unsteady in a way I'm not really used to??

outside of the whole show thing and all which I have low hopes for if any, and may not even watch, I don't have much interest in beyond canon, or anything hussie is making now, and in a lot of ways it's kind of out of spite. like, hussie is known for being bad to work with and has had some issues with managing Homestuck in general. Not always a great person overall, which obviously is normal and pobodys nerfect or whatever.

but I guess in some ways it agitates me to know that people are hanging off of their every post again, that suddenly the more specific range of fandom that the intermission has lived in might seriously grow with the re-releases? it feels like a serious shift in normality and I'm being a big stuffy loser by refusing to be excited or interested in any new hussiepostings or developments in the post-canon content...

genuinely wondering about other people's thoughts on this. I'm sure my feelings make sense somewhat, but i definitely carry some spite as someone who cares a lot about the intermission and is used to seeing it and the carapacians neglected, being disappointed in general by official content related to them post canon, and has avoided consuming any beyond canon entirely.

should I try beyond canon? I've been told by one person I should, but I'm hard pressed to bother U_U :/. is this change going forward for the hs fandom going to be lateral, an improvement, or make things worse? lmk if you want U_U maybe I'm being too negative, lol

i think i am going to do an exercise for october for this account but it wont be like, an "inktober" exactly. i will draw one shitty little thing and post it every single day for the most part for a month. it will not be "good" or like. even colored or lined but i wanna post some little doodles on here and make sure i can draw something i like regularly so im going to be silly!! intermictober. intober. midnightober. feltober. something of this nature. ill also try to draw every character in it at least once.

i might use asks for this if anyone wants to sent in a little shitty doodle request with like, intober or something in the ask to lmk you know its gonna be shit lmao
