Hi! Lately I've been in a "funk." I don't want to hang out with people or do anything and I don't know why. Can you help?
Hey!
Here’s the thing sometimes we go through these phases where we want to be alone. This doesn’t mean that there is something wrong with you. It’s okay, and I think that instead of forcing yourself to go outside and do stuff, you should spend time with yourself and do all the things that you never got the chance to do with yourself. It’s okay to be alone despite what everyone else may think.
However, this may also be an indicator that you need a change in scenery, you may be getting bored of your life, the people or you may not feel happy around the people or doing the things that you once did before.
My best suggestion is to get out there and experience new things that you haven’t done before. You will eventually find something that you will fall in love with and want to do it all the time. Surround yourself with new people and make new friends.
It’s okay to feel stuck in a rut, but it’s what we do in the process to pull yourself out. By all means spend a month or two to yourself doing nothing, but sooner or later you have to pull yourself up and together and get stuff done. By changing routines, and scenery is the best way to motivate yourself to get through the little ‘rut’ that you have fallen into.
(Try browsing some lifestyle blogs btw!)
Don’t be a victim to the routine and live your life to the fullest.
Hope this helps x
Chloe
Persistent Starting
Pick something you want to do but keep putting off. It can be anything. Tell yourself you'll spend five minutes doing it and then quit after five minutes if you still don't want to do it. After five minutes if you still want to quit then quit. No tricks or mind games. You won't want to quit. What happens is the part of our brain that plans and carries out our day to day actions takes over our bodies and we just keep doing what we're doing. Planning the next step, executing the current one. Autopilot in a way.
