Truth on the Rocks
Every single one of us has at least one regret in life.
For me it’s another doosey - I’d always flung myself at the opposite sex. Now, come to think of it, the reason I holstered myself onto every potential mate I interacted with - was simply for validation. For a long time, I believed in the ”Any attention is good attention” saying, and every guy seemed like fair game to me. It took me eighteen years to find that, this just simply isn’t the case.
Craving something you don’t understand, along with being in total denial of this hunger for validation, placed me in this awkward state of oblivion.
If I’m being completely honest, I’ve always done the chasing when it came to the rendezvousing. I never really stopped to figure out what hell I was getting myself into - and even more-so - did I genuinely like the guy I was sort-of hitting on?
In the movies everything seems so easy, am I right? Guy likes girl, girl is unsure of the guy for ninety percent of the movie, guy kisses girl - girl falls in love with guy - and queue dramatic firework display over the tear-jolting make-out scene.
With these types of movies and TV shows replaying in our heads over and over, It’s not hard to understand how our depiction of love and the laws of authentic attraction are altered to the extent of unrecognizability.
I guess, all I’m trying to say is - just understand, every decision you make has an after. Most importantly, be sure of what you want - and who you are, before you chase something you may not know you even need.
This time put yourself first, take care of you and you alone. Being considerate to other people starts with you appreciating your fine self first x
