Chrysler Flight Sweep II (Ghia), 1955
In 1955, De Soto presented three concept cars. Their chassis were built in Detroit, and the bodies were built in Turin, at the Ghia workshops. Of the Falcon roadster, Flight Sweep I convertible, and Flight Sweep II hardtop shown at Motorama that year, the latter generated the most interest. The De Soto Flight Sweep II featured a monocoque body and, overall, differed little from the production models. The design solutions discovered in 1955 would be applied to the 1957 model line (De Soto Fire Sweep).
