[Hey, I don't know if you want to be anonymous, but this ended up being a really long answer that might be useful to other people. I had trouble sending it via fan mail, so... I'm answering publicly but keeping you anonymous.]
There are pockets of strong sexism in American motorcycle culture. This is especially true for outlaw motorcycle culture (think Hells Angels, Mongols, and other cruiser gangs), but it certainly does exist in sportbike culture, too. If you are getting weird looks, it might be because you are Asian, but more likely female, but being small just adds to it.
If people are giving you a side-eye over riding, they are either sexist or, I'm happier to say, they may be worried about you! As I posted earlier, there are a lot of clueless people getting killed on bikes in America.
As for girls on bikes: when I was going to tech school, I would often ride my ZX6R to school. There was one really famous moment when I walked into class, wearing my gear, and carrying my helmet. I overheard one of the guys in class turn to another guy and ask, "Did she ride a bike to school?" The other guy shook his head in mock seriousness, "No man, don't you know she drives her car with a helmet."
