stop staring at everyone not incredibly old or with a cast on their foot who happens to be driving an electric cart
for the past few weeks, i’ve had to help my grandmother into meijer and then back out a few times and i do this by running inside, getting an electric cart, driving it to the car, and her climbing into that
just climbing into the cart, i’ve gotten a lot of dirty looks and judgmental stares (probably because i’m young and/or fat) and i’m barely driving it for a full minute
how dare you judge someone when you literally know nothing about the situation
if i felt more comfortable driving those carts, i might use one on bad depression days, when it’s hard to lift my feet and i have to fight not to lay down in the store (which i have almost done several times and have actually sat down right in the middle of a store, just plopped right down on the floor because i had so little energy and my bones were so heavy). instead, when i simply transport the cart to and from my 83 year old grandmother, i feel enough judgment to never go near those when i might need one
fuck anyone that does that, that makes people feel unsafe to use accessibility tools that are specifically there to be used
