Kronos in Clash of Titans looked more like Typhon than Kronos himself, something my younger me would only discover later on after knowing better the greek myths we (I) started to love.
The giant size, association with volcanoes and being stronger than Zeus and the other gods scream Typhon and not Kronos. Sure, he definitelly was way less monstruous than how Typhon would look like, but he still looks more like the Father of Monsters than the King of Titans, the largest and strongest child of Gaia.
A volcanic thunderstorm over Mount Etna on Sicily. If you are an ancient greek and knew the myth of Typhon would probably think he was angry, trying to break free and Zeus was shooting lightnings to hold him back.
Fun fact, it seems like Kronos was more an ice person than a magma man.

Probably because he was basically a male Demeter that is more related to cosmos than being limited to Earth. Still, gods aren't exactly limited to one or two elements like pokemon (neither pokemon are if we're being detailed), but I like to imagine that Kronos (at least when fighting or angry) was more an winter type of guy, kinda like Demeter when Persephone isn't with her. Like father like daughter I suppose. Canibalism and breaking promises to mother Gaia aside, Kronos must have been on very good mood in golden age most of the time.
